The earlier shot was of the northern edge of my mom's yard and looking at the fog across the road over the pond below the one behind my mom's house.

In this photo, you see in the foreground the pond that borders the eastern edge of my mom's yard:

Doesn't staying someplace so atmospheric and having--ahem!--a bit of free time on your hands make you feel like writing a mystery??

There was a doctor in Lexington that we went to but i can't remember the name. Will have to ask my mother. It's possible.

DR Ron, did you remember your binoculars for looking out on the lovely pond? I am glad you remembered your camera!

Almost done packing!  :)

-I just need to decide which presents can "survive" being in my checked bag, and which ones I should put in my carry-on - unwrapped, of course.

Nice photos of a beautiful setting, DR Ron!  Glad you've found a way to share them with us.  Now, about that iPod...

DR Ron Pulliam - Lovely photos!  *And Congrats on being a fellow Photobucketeer!

-As for an iPod shuffle battery... Just buy a new iPod Shuffle.  -I seriously doubt your battery is dead anyway.  If you're still getting a flashing light of any color, that means the battery is still operable.  *Again, you need to use iTunes to properly transfer music files to it.

DR Jeanne:  You sick?  I'm so sorry.  I hope it doesn't hurt and have a temperature.

I wish I could give you some of my chicken noodle soup.  I wish I could share some hot spiced tea with you.

Are you being taken care of????

Thank you, Ron. You're very sweet. I'm not sick-sick, just feeling on-the-verge.

I'd planned to deliver some presents today and some other stuff, but it can easily wait. It's amazing how good it feels just to say, "the hell with it" and curl up under my duvet with a book. Unfortunately, I've read ALL my BK books, so I'll be curling up with something else. (Write another book quick, Bruce!)

Thank you all for your kind thoughts. I do appreciate them.

Jose, you're breaking my heart! I was horrified when I first read the post from Mike. Please!

Don't worry...

SPOILER ALERT

The story has a happy ending.  A little confounding, but happy.  ;)

OK, who'll be the first person to write a lyric about being a Photobucketeer?

After spending many hours last night searching for just the right motel for my first half of the LA vacation I chose....The Burbank Travelodge! LOL! I will be spending those first few days running all over tarnation and back that that it really doesn't matter much where I stay...and it has wireless internet...and I will be in the lap of luxury for when I switch over to the Burbank Marriott, anyhow...so might as well save some money for more important things.

However, I have not ruled out staying someplace in Glendale as it seems to be such an easy drive from there to both Hollywood and the rest of the valley...am I right about that?

As for the Sportsmen's Lodge...maybe I will just take Laurie Mitchell for dinner there while I am in town.

I just ate a bowl of comforting tomato soup and am now addressing my chocolate-deprivation problem. Best to rule out all potential problems right from the start, I think!

I'm reading an Anthony Horowitz novel. Anyone read Anthony Horowitz? I adore his FOYLE'S WAR (the PBS mini-series).

Nothing like a bowl or bar filled with anti-oxidants to cure what ails you!

And the word of the day is: DYSPHAGIA!
Albert, the scientist, tried to get funding for his study on whether GAY APHIDS suffer more from DYSPHAGIA than their straight aphid counterparts, but the college board of directors just couldn't swallow the need for his research.

Der Brucer is watching Fox News, where everyone is arguing over something quite loudly.  In fact, I think Fox News may be the only station anywhere on cable where the programming is as loud as the advertising.
