I missed DW Betsy has not returned home, or is she too tired to make the cake?

Betsy's still in Reno, where she's almost achieved residency for that quickie divorce she's giving herself for my birthday.  ;)

Original Carvel Stores Closes

There's also an audio feature about it on NPR.

With so much wrong in the world right now, such a shame there is now one less Carvel's in the world.  I wish they would open one in Ashland.

;D  Have the boys bake you your cake, it could even be a fun project for the three of you. ;)

Have a nice birthday despite the fact DW Betsy & her chocolate cake are absent.

Tonight, I'm having dinner with my friend Bruce Pomahac at O'Neal's and then we're seeing this Schmidt-Jones tribute at Merkin Hall.

A Ricky Ian Gordon concert and Judy Kuhn back at Joe's Pub.

That does sound like fun-honest.  If only I didn't have plans to hike on Mt Ashland this morning.  I have to leave in a few minutes.

How does one change the font?  Do you have to type it in or is there a place with font choices?.  I could only get Broadway to work.

I just bought me some LORD JIM on eBay for $24.99!  Thanks, BK, not sure how I missed that release.

Would anyone like a slightly used VHS copy of LORD JIM for $24.99?  ;)

On a more serious note (Bb)--does anyone want a first edition of Huxley's CROME YELLOW, signed by screenwriter Frances Harmer?  It was mistakenly listed on eBay has having been signed by Frances Farmer.  If you pay shipping, it's yours.

I do believe I may have opened a little hornet's nest for History Channel.  I have been kvetching forever about their stupid decision to release nonanamorphic DVDs even when the source material is 16:9, and the director of one of these DVDs has been emailing me aghast that the DVD is unenhanced (he had never bothered to view the DVD product of anything he had delivered to History for broadcast).

I wouldn't pay $.24 for a copy on VHS.

The last Carvel here closed a few months ago.  I honestly prefer other places, but a friend was fond of their soft serve cones, and so I would be a nice guy and get a scoop of cherry vanilla on a sugar cone just so that he wouldn't feel alone.  Hey, that's the kind of guy I am!

I once bought a Fudgey the Blue Whale ice cream cake to a potluck once.  No more Fudgey the Blue Whale.

Back from the long jog - the last third was very difficult today.  However, I came up with another verse for the number I'm working on - and then had to sing it over and over and over until I got home and could write it down - thank goodness I didn't forget any of it.

DR Sandra: Did you by any chance slaughter a sheep and hide the evidence in the washing machine?
Me: No, but I did wash a pillow in there.
DR Sandra: It's not a pillow any more.

Again, you made me laugh out loud.

Good Afternoon!

Well, since I opened the fridge and noticed that I still had a head of purple cauliflower and broccoli in the crisper, I went ahead and floret'd them, and they're currently roasting away in the oven.  :)

The fellow who was supposed to write half the notes for the upcoming Kritzerland release informs me NOW that he won't have time.  I'm calling him at three, and he'll give me some info and history about the film and the recording of the score and guess what I'll be doing for the rest of the afternoon?
