And for an interesting(!) review of "Sweeney Todd", here's one that was just posted on the Sondheim listserv from the World Socialist Web Site:

Tim Burton’s Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street]

Senn Penn and Cindy Sheehan ghostwriting?

I did get THE NAKED PREY in the mail today, so I'll be watching it tonight (for the first time). That should be an interesting evening of viewing.

Actually I have been working on a screeplay about people who live in glass houses.  The working title is THE NAKED PRAY.

But does anyone know what happened to Dan the Man?

He told me he was getting busy at work and needed to take a break.

No way! I may be dumb but I ain't stoopid.

Well, i R. I journeyed to "the city" just for the experience of New Year's Eve in Times' Square (and some other fun times - examples of which you probably have on your VCR).

Sondheim writes pleasant, forgettable ditties in Sweeney Todd ....

What a bizarre review!

the tremor you felt was me hitting the floor!

I'm trying to decide what to watch tonight: Kathy Griffin, Strauss' opera SALOME with Teresa Stratas, or the Royal Ballet performing NUTCRACKER or SYLVIA.  Hmmm . . .

Where are my bifocals?  I thought you wrote you were going to watch Kathy Griffin's Strauss' opera SALOME.  That would be something.

I don't see how they expect New Yorkers to have a New Year's Eve without pie.

I was just watching "The Next Food Network Star."

Apparently it's not as easy to host a cooking show as one might think.

Well, it's time for me to leave to go to dinner with the family.  I don't think I'll be back before NYC's midnight, but I'll definitely be back before the west coast midnight.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! ;D

Ron, we don’t have THE SOUND OF MUSIC in any form.  Had we been inclined to watch it for the 100th time, we might have last night.  I wish we had as I did not like BABEL at all.

I wondered if anyone would notice that François had left!
At the moment he is on holidays from work and will return to Paris in late January.

His absence has been noticed.  I don't recall who asked where he is, not too long ago.
