No, I haven't been sitting here like so much fish.  I had to leave abruptly for the optometrist's office when I broke my glasses.  Now, 700+ dollars later (insurance covers about half, thank God), I'm back.  Can't really complain - I'd worn those frames for almost 4 years - but will have to wear my prescription sunglasses for about a week.

Is this mishap day at HHW?  Wasn't Friday the 13th a week ago?

We must be on a time delay, DR Ginny.

I'm gonna try to sneak out of the office early and get a car from a rental place that's just a few blocks away.  It'will cost a bit more to rent a car in the city, but it will be way more convienient for me.

Sorry for posting twice and then leaving. The internet was still dodgy and it was taking too long for messages to post, so I went ahead back downstairs to get my afternoon started.

I must say I am AMAZED at the prices folks here are paying for eyeglasses.  I've never paid more than $100 for a pair in my life.

I get my eyes checked at the VA (free!), and there I can also get a pair of seamless bifocals in really good frames for about $89.

With coupons sent to me quarterly by commercial optometrist shops in the Bay Area, I can get up to $100 off frames and still pay about $100 for the lenses and frames.  The prescription, of course, isn't chargeable as long as it's current.

I am breathing again.  I made a mistake on something that was set for hearing this morning. I realized it about a week ago,  but it was really too late to do anything but wait and see what would happen today.   I have been totally stressed about it for the entire week.  Today, I fell on my sword and the judge wasn't pleased with me and made that very clear, but he gave me more time and it will in no way effect my client's case.  Whew!

Whew!  I'm glad the judge did the right thing for your client, and you.

What would you have been if the judge had not done the right thing for her client, and her?
