So, as I began playing through the SHE LOVES ME material I realized I'd never really worked on these songs.

Ever.

I've "known" them forever, and I've played the show, but that's only been from the standpoint of a ridiculously insane synth book. Of course people bring the title song and "Vanilla Ice Cream" and such into auditions, and you get through it, but sitting down and really working on them? Not till now, and it's most satisfying.

I regret to say I was guilty of using the condition "dead grandmother" a few times too many back in my school days.

DR FJL the dead aunt has become a legend of lore that has already been used in my family.....long may she wave....I think she trumps just about any other excuse or reason for lax or irritating behavior.

This photo of our leading lady makes the production look much better than it has any right to be represented.

My neighbor Mark dropped by to tell me he had finally spoken to the idiot on the fifth floor.  The idiot's version is that he went out, got drunk, ordered Chinese food, and became sick so he called his girlfriend, whose apartment he is living while she's staying on Long Island,  She called 911, and when the police showed up at his door, he refused to answer, so they broke in, arrested him and took him away in handcuffs.  He was released at 4:30am.

Since the cop told me it had to do with suicide, Mark and I think he got drunk, called Lisa and threatened to kill himself.  She called 911 and the rest of the story jives.

My favorite Goldie Hawn movie was the one she never got to make: Chicago with Liza Minnelli.

Ooo...that would've been good!

We shall see who gets caught in the Mousetrap.  Here is the lively cast and never a more beautiful, cooperative, and collaborative group was ever on the stage at the PCPH....

Or NOT........

Nice pictures, Jrand.

Got a new sculptured foot brace yesterday and new shoes.

If these work well, in 3 weeks I may be able to give up my walker.
Recovery vibes for Druxy.

Another song someone is doing is “Hurry! It’s Lovely Up Here” and I just listened to it, following the score, for the first time in many years. OMG. I’d totally forgotten how different so much of this show is from what’s on the cast album.

I didn't know that you could order chocolate truffle birthdays!  Sounds delish!

I daresay a person could write a full length book about the history and development of CLEAR DAY.

Maybe CAMELOT, too.

Somebody did. Lerner’s assistant. It’s all about the trips to Dr Feelgood while Lerner was tripping out and trying to write On s Clear Day ...
