Elmoore3003, everytime you mention TRISTRAM SHANDY it makes me think of Perry Mason and Allison Hayes.

Only, JRand55 will know why.

Pearl Chute didn't get that apartment on her salary as an ad illustrator, you know.  She had a part time gig doctoring books, including a first edition of TRISTAM SHANDY....and she looked GREAT doing it.  And even though she was grilled big time on the stand by Mason, she wasn't the killer.....it was indeed the CASE OF THE BOGUS BOOKS.

Just finished Betty White's book HERE WE GO AGAIN....written in 1996...or there abouts.  Talks about her years in television and her marraige to Allen Ludden.

She also talks about their friendship with Carol Channing and her (then) husband Charles Lowe.  When Betty did HELLO DOLLY in stock in Ohio, she greeted Carol with the news that everyone in the audience had told her it was better than the Broadway production and that Betty was wonderful....Carol deadpanned to her:  "Your mother said what?"

There is a commercial for SUBWAY running here that has a young man trying to get into the movies by paying a child's admission for the man with him, obviously an adult on his knees in need of a shave.

The young man perpetrating the fraud looks exactly like DRJED!!

vixmom-
Though I have some scenes with the lovely Debbie Rochon that were pleasant to film in Times Square and Central Park, I'm guessing she would no more remember me than the man in the moon. That girl does like a dozen low-budget horror movies every year.

Wasn't there anything about you, Rodzinski, that stood out?

Will you allow me to SCREAM, SHOUT and YELL for a few seconds, please?!

The Academy Voters had NO GUTS, NO BALLS at all!

BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN should have WON BEST PICTURE the other night!

Shame to CONSERVATIVE HOLLYWOOD! Shame on you!

Anyway, in the heart of millions of moviegoers 'round the world BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN IS their best movie in recent years and it does not need a gold statuette; it has gotten so many awards from people who know what movies are!

I'm getting off my soapbox!

Thank you!

(Oooh! Do you know that, in China, Mr Ang Lee's speech was censored??? Don't you love the World we live in???.....)

Ooooh -- me again!! -- and... what about the big fuss regarding the fact that the Geishas in MEMOIRS are portrayed by Chinese actresses and not Japanese ones?

Ain't that just plain... RIDICULOUS?

It's almost lunch time...and for the first time in ages, we're going to the local museum for MEAT LOAF!

Had a great time watching another FIREFLY episode, one I had never seen before because Fox didn't air it. It involved a villainess from a previous episode who duped the crew and got away with it. This episode allowed them some retribution, and I loved it. Also got to see star Nathan Fillion with no clothes on, always a special treat.

SOLD!  I know what DVD set I am buying next.

Glad to see Francois back.

This has been a day or organization and taking care of business, and I must say I got quite a lot done - no writing, unfortunately, but might try some after our rehearsal tonight.  I'm also waiting to hear my muse Margaret's reaction to the three latest short stories.  And I'm still debating whether I need another one or two - right now, I think the book would run to about 200 pages (a couple of the short stories are, in fact, long stories) - seven stories.  I do have another idea or two, not fleshed out yet, but if I need to, I may just go ahead and write them and if I don't end up using them I could hold them for another time.

Good evening, fellow Dear Readers. Yesterday DH and I went for a drive on historic Route 66. Here is where we stopped for lunch:

Hmmmm....she said that her starring role in the 1961 western THE BROKEN LAND was likely the only time she would have billing above Jack Nicholson (the film was one of his early roles).

She adored Shemp Howard and the other Stooges that she worked with, and she had a 10 year affair with Carbine Williams who was the one who brought her out to California from the East Coast.

Carbine Williams!  I love a man who plays to his strong suit!

I have no idea what that means.  I think I was channeling Mae West.

May I ask what DR Ron means by "being oh so... French!"... a comment he made a few days ago about the winners of the Best Documentary category?

I'm always amused at how we tend to generalize when it comes to cultural differences!

Sorry if i'm asking a question that'll bore most of you...

I'm just curious since I don't know what "being oh so... American" would be, inspite of my living in the US for six years!

Btw, the documentary is NOT a short but a full-length feature!

Here's what the Cincinnati Enquirer has to say about Wicked.

This morning's paper also has a map of the route for Sunday's St. Patrick's Day Parade, which completely surrounds the theater and which starts at exactly the same time as our matinee.

Thanks for the link!  Ooohh...  Julia Murney, Sebastian Arcelus... And you get Alma Cuervo too!  She's an amazing actress.  She was in W;t in Richmond a couple of years ago - a very passionate, committed and brave performance.

And I had forgotten that you have the John Doyle Companycoming up out there with another powerhouse cast including Barbara Walsh as Joanne.  She and her husband, Jack Cummings, III, are wonderful people.
