Reviewed a return by someone in the office today that was a big step forward for this person as a tax preparer.  I was all set to praise her on a job well done (well, actually, I did praise her about that) but noticed that I had to break the news to her that she had to enter everything on it again, because she had simply done the whole return in the wrong year and there's no way to just transfer info.  :(

DOH!

I hate when that happens!  I had a similar experience recently with a  difficult bunch of land transfer documents ansd I put them on the wrong county forms.....grrrrr

Oh you're back!! Yes!  I am quite intriqued to hear this after all you have been saying.  All this time I've been thinking of the Babes In Toyland with Laurel and Hardy but everything you been saying today makes it clear that I have been entirely on the wrong track all along.  Do you have any expected date for the release of your work?

Alas, no!  I hope we can finish up the edits by summer to present the edition to the Institute for perusal.   The recording release has been quite frustrating.

I thought in France they might call the film BRICKBATS MOUNTIN' - at least based on how we were treated during our visit.  :)

Most of us STILL do not speak English here!

It was well enough to have to say Eyes Wide Shut when buying a ticket, even though, and it's against the law here, a lot of US films do keep their title en Anglais, when exploited in France, something I find rather annoying!

You see, Les Misérables must have been so hard to say that it was transformed into Les Miz.... over there, in Bushland!! Poor Victor Hugo!

I shall now be on my way to our pickup rehearsal, which I'm hoping won't take more than an hour.

Ok! Stay FAT & happy but you'll never know the wonders of France that way, and keep thinking that every woman here is a prostitute and that we all drink and get high on wine! That we all wear bérets and carry, at all times, a baguette under one armpit, today's paper under the other, with a cigarette dangling from our lips, à la Humphrey Bogart!

On a more serious note.  B flat -- a very serious note, indeed!  I was talking to a very old and dear friend of mine who is employed by the local county health department.  It was quite an eye-opening conversation.  They told me that everyone from the CDC down to the local health department personnel is extremely worried (to the point of being terrified) by the very very very (that is 3 verys)real possibility of an avian and pandemic flu in the very near future

This goes well beyond the usual dire forecasts that we are used to hearing and reading about.  This pandemic is very real and when it hits, it will hit so hard and so quickly that we won't have a chance to prepare ourselves.  Health departments around the country are holding military-style alerts to test the readiness of their own personnel.  From what I am told, perhaps it is time we all took these warnings a little more seriously.

I won't talk about American Idol tonight (since many of you have not watched).  But it is interesting how the actual results relate to the supposedly accurate source that said who would go (that i posted earlier).

FYI the source (earlier today) said gedeon, will, konnik, lisa.

No offence intended to the watchers and voters for AI but I wonder if the poulation as a whole votes in greater numbers than do in an election.  Would an AI candidate have unseated Mr Bush?

I suspect there are a lot more morons on the phones for AMERICAN YODEL than an election.  We're talking important here!
