DR George, sorry about the loss of your sister's cat. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Wednesday morning greetings! We decided last night that today would be a slow one. We have only about a 2-hour drive so well take our time getting ready and stop for a nice brunch between here and Leesburg.
Good morning from NYC!
My friend Paul arrived from California on the train Monday night. Yesterday we tour the Lincoln Center tour. It was very interesting--the guide was really great.
We had a nice dinner with former DR Ben. Unfortunately, Anthony couldn't make it, but we are seeing him this morning.

Et moi, aussi!
George, I'm very sorry about the cat. I saw so many on Kos and in Athens, and I was happy they were fairly well taken care of, though not spayed or neutered.
Someone at Sandra's workplace is giving away a calico kitten.
I slept almost 11 hours, which was much needed.
AT&T came out to change the internet connection. But they couldn't do it because they couldn't get into the backdoor neighbor's yard. They didn't tell me anything about that. Irritating.
It was so sad to read about Nessa, George. It is always so hard to let them go when it is time.

Thanks, Laura. It is. My cat Neve is 18 years old and I've only had her for two years, but I dread when it's her time to go. :-\

Not everyone is willing to take such an old pet. May her have her many more years.
DR JOHNG I would guess that JB is glad that you are both at home.He was happy to see me. He's now in his cage. So, he's not entirely happy.
Welcome home, John G.
You return to work tomorrow?
I received a call from the doctor's office about noon today canceling tomorrow's surgery. Apparently one of the staff is out and they can't do it without him. Sigh. It can't be helped, I know. I scheduled it two months ago and have other medical appointments that are very difficult to reschedule. Ugh. They are not ready yet to reschedule.
Jane, I like traveling by train. It's my favorite option.

Yes. And I have my interviews tomorrow. Then return to help Joy teach her dance classes. It's going to be a fun day.

All this talk of taquitos has made me think Mexican food. Not taquitos, but maybe enchiladas.
Fried corn chip with a little protein in them really isn't on the list of foods for a diabetic to eat, but then neither is diet soda ;)

True, but if I don't live entirely on carbs, I can have some without much trouble...that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
Have a safe trip, DR ChasSmith!

That is always my goal, and I shall see it through. Thank you, sir!
DR JohnG, Die Meistersinger is my favorite Wagner opera, but that old Nazi sure could have learned to edit, since I think Die Meistersinger could lose an hour. I will never understand the Wagner cult. Three hours of one his his operas seems a lifetime, but four hopurs of Mozart flies by. I will never understand that.
I am eating a large healthy salad with cabbage, carrots, celery, black beans, tofu, almonds, artichoke hearts, & avocado.
Sounds good.
Lotta doings going on today. Mom was told that she's not capable of helping Dad anymore, so she was ready to sell the house, as if that would do anything. She hasn't been able to get the house ready to sell for the past four years. I don't know why she'd be able to do it now. Plus, there's a waiting list for every place that might be able to take Dad, which she doesn't realize. Home help, however, might be doable. She just has to bring herself to the point where she can accept that.

I had some white cheese in brine, as the Greeks call their salad feta. And a can of black olives from Turkey (lifelong enemy of the Greeks, but they don't have to know).
It was time for some of the olives to be harvested. Trees everywhere were covered with so much fruit it was rather difficult to comprehend. Made my poor little tree seem like an underachiever. One tree had olives that were enormous and all were dark black. They looked ready to eat, but I won't get fooled again on that. Ate one olive right from the tree once. Never, ever again.
Surgery vibes for your brother in-law!
Also, I never start to pack until the night before I leave.
So, here's my annual pitch: If you're looking for a holiday gift or something for yourself:
How about a PERSONALLY SIGNED copy of a book that they would enjoy?
