Well, you've read the notes, the notes were early and up, and now it is time for you to post until the early and up cows come home.

I watched the first hour of last night's debate, became totally frustrated over the same hangups on healthcare from Debate No. 1, turned off the TV, and went to bed.

The cats were quite restless last night.  My legs are driving me crazy, and Stella's insistence on lying on top of my feet drove me crazy.  As soon as I saw it was 6:00, I thought, let's get up and put me out of my misery.  I need a trip to Staples this morning before I settle in to work, so I'll finish up my household chores earlier than usual before I go.

It's been an hour since my last post, and my household chores are finished.  I have had a frustrating time trying to pay online a University of Washington invoice for a copy of an Earl Robinson song.  I finally sent an email saying I could not get the invoice to go through.

Wednesday morning greetings!  We decided last night that today would be a slow one.  We have only about a 2-hour drive so we’ll take our time getting ready and stop for a nice brunch between here and Leesburg.

My friend Paul arrived from California on the train Monday night.   Yesterday we tour the Lincoln Center tour.  It was very interesting--the guide was really great.

While at Lincoln Center we checked out the Harold Prince Tribute--it has a lot of great stuff--letters, videos, photos, costumes, set pieces.  There's a desk with an old-fashioned dial phone (that rings every few minutes), and an old typewriter.  Not sure if it's really his desk since it's very small and modest.

We saw Tootsie, the Musical.  I loved it.  Santino Fontana really deserved his Tony, imo.

So, here's my annual pitch: If you're looking for a holiday gift or something for yourself:

How about a PERSONALLY SIGNED copy of a book that they would enjoy?

Because of medical and other issues, I've had to cut my attendance at autograph shows and conventions down this past few years and, as a result, I have extra paperback copies of several of my book titles on hand. I would be happy to sign copies (to whomever you want) and ship them to you within the United States for the retail list price + $5.00 s/h. Payment can be via PayPal, check or money order.

The list of available titles are follows. If you're interested, please contact me privately to make arrangements.

NOTE: On some of these titles, I only have a couple copies available, so if you are interested, you should move fast, since it's first come...

The titles:

JACKIE GOES TO DIXIE ($15.00)

PAUL MUNI: His Life and His Films ($20.00)

HOLLYWOOD SNAPSHOTS:The Forgotten Interviews ($20.00)

MISS DINAH SHORE. ($30.00)

MURDER IN BABYLON. ($20.00)

BASIL RATHBONE: His Life and His Films. ($30.00)

MY FORTY-FIVE YEARS IN HOLLYWOOD...AND HOW I ESCAPED ALIVE. ($19.95)

LIFE. LIBERTY & THE PURSUIT OF HOLLYWOOD. ($20.00)

ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD: From the Secret Files of Harry Pennypacker. ($15.00)

DRACULA MEETS JACK THE RIPPER & Other Revisionist Histories. ($15.00)

NOBODY DROWNS IN MINERAL LAKE ($13.00)

SHADOW WATCHER ($15.00)

THE ART OF STORYTELLING ($17.00)

CHEYENNE WARRIOR ($12.00)

CHEYENNE WARRIOR II / HAWK. ($12.00)

SARAH GOLDEN HAIR. ($10.00)

GHOUL CITY. ($10.00) - only 1 copy left

We know people who love taking long distance train rides.  We occassionaly talk about doing it.
