Back from the October meeting of Middletown's AAUW branch.  The program tonight was a panel of women in high-powered financial positions (county treasurer, school district treasurer, and co-owner of an accounting firm), moderated by an investment advisor.

Well, I guess I am a bigger celebrity than I thought I was.  Today may be a Federal Holiday, but they delivered my copies of HIGH SCHOOL STORIES  to me today.

How do you rate??  I went to the local post office today to mail a bunch of soap opera DVDs to DakotaCelt and they were closed.  I forgot that today is a sort-of holiday.

Well, it's time for me to head home...and to do some TV watching.  I haven't watched last week's "Chuck" and I want to watch it before I watch tonight's episode.

Until later!

Good Evening!

WHOA!  It stormed. It downpoured. It hailed. And my friend's street in Brooklyn looks like an ice storm came through! Crazy weather!

Ok, call me crazy, but I really don't believe it's ringworm....

It's amazing what you learn on the internet...ringworm and jock itch are the same thing....who knew?

Little Ricky has jock itch?

I wondered who would notice that

Cilla did you check out that hyperlink from RAISE THE TITANIC that I posted this morning?  For a true Titanicphile, it brings a real lump to your throat.

I have now!  Wow, thanks for posting the link

I am watching some episodes from Season Two of VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA.

A lot of cold war stuff and not every episode has a crazy monster......David Hedison is most comely.  And this episode features Miss Audrey Dalton - who was in TITANIC 1953 with Admiral Nelson aka Richard Basehart.  Audrey looks stunning!!!

Speaking of rain, we're having quite a downpour. Got rather noisy for a bit.

The storm front is just north of us. . .no rain, nor thunder or lightning here. . .but, a few miles up the road, there was a real lighting show a little while ago.

Watching a few Twilight Zone episodes on Blu and Ray.  I must get a good night's sleep tonight, so notes early, bed early, sleep at least till nine-thirty - at least that's the plan.

So. . .

I had my follow-up appointment with my general practitioner tonight.  While, it's not exactly bad news, it is what it is:

My diverticuli are spastic, which is why I have the pain most of the time. (which I had for the most part of today, as well).  At least we know that the pain is not going to be constant. . .well, that's what the dr. said. . .

Apparently, Dr. Mulock had a difficult time with my colonoscopy for that reason.  (thank God I was out)!

Treatment suggested is the duo antibiotic used to treat diverticulITIS, remember, I do indeed have diverticulOSIS.
So, I have a ten day trial of co-working antibiotics to begin.  One is every 8 hours, one every twelve.  The prescription came with SEVEN PAGES of literature concerning the meds' contraindications and what to do if the pills have side effects.

My PSA is normal.  My cholesterol is good, not great and not bad, but could be better.

My fatty liver is normal for a man my age.
The enlarged prostate doesn't seem to be presenting any problems.

I am to add more fiber to my diet, even if it's just Bene-Fiber, Metamuscil or any of those on the market fiber enhancers.  I've taken to buying high fiber treats and cereals and using those for my evening snacks.  Oatmeal has become a regular part of my diet.  As has Greek Yogurt, which though not a fibrous meal, is 38% of my daily protein!

Now, onto Miss Dixie Bell and her inflamed eye and knee.
Her appointment is at 10:00am tomorrow.

Oh, and Mum had an infected ingrown toenail taken care of last week, which was a busy week all around. . .what with my new car seat, car inspection and car registration. . .

Believe me when I say, I send multiple vibes to all in need!

We just watched the first 2-hour installment of GOD IN AMERICA and now I'm going to resume the short sleep I had at about 1:45 into it.  Thanks for the congratulatory comments about my blood test results.

Vibes to DR td!

Vibes back at ya, td. I, too, wish I could lose a bit of weight. But not in the way that you're losing it. I once had diverticulITIS, which was solved by removing a chunk of my intestine. All has been right since then, thankfully.

So, does anybody remember the odd connection between Joan Sutherland and fringe presidential candidate Lyndon LaRouch? I remember one night shortly before the 1984 election, LaRouche bought a ton of network air time to sell his political vision. And there was Joan Sutherland. I guess we were to vote for him because she had a beautiful voice. I never really understood that.
