My first question for ASK BK day - did you ever watch any particular soap opera? If so, why this particular one....did you ever audition for a soap opera or get involved in writing for one for any length of time? I don't see this information on DR MS's site, but I may have missed it.
Good morning, all! I'm running late this morning, about 45 minutes or so late.
Questions for BK and DRS:
Do you have a favourite Peter Pan related movie, musical and song? My most recent Peter Pan purchase was an Australian theatrical failure "Pan". I am not sure how well-known it is overseas - it had major input from the Jim Henson Creature shop and there are only a couple of songs on the "Soundtrack".
Time for everyone to play their BK produced "Peter Pan" collection.
Partner Colin's favourite Tinkerbell is Julia Roberts.

We beat the previous record of 37 inches in 1887 or something.
Anthony is under serious consideration for Van Buren, the coach, who gets to sing Heart.
You know how the Eskimos have something like 40 different words for snow?
You know how the Eskimos have something like 40 different words for snow? Well if you want to hear various euphemisms/descriptions for rain, move to Oregon. We're still trying to figure the difference between "intermittent showers," "scattered showers," "partly cloudly," "partly sunny," and "torrential downpour." :)
Well, I see now why they predicted near 70 degree temperatures today. What started as a dreary damp day is turning into a marvelous spring afternoon.
I've never seen Disney's "Peter Pan" but I've been in a production of the Moose Charlap, et al. Peter Pan. I played Jukes, the first pirate to get killed, and had a great time. But the score just doesn't do anything for me. It's not that I don't like it, but I guess I'm just sort of ambivalent about it. :-\
I also agree that Paula was definitely on something last night. And it is REALLY irritating that she almost never lets Simon finish a thought, especially if he sounds like he's going to be negative. She just immediately starts arguing with his points without letting him complete the thought.
Do you guys think the first act of INTO THE WOODS is appropriate for a 4 yr old boy? What about the Cathy Rigby PETER PAN? He loves cartoon videos, so I'm not sure if he will like either of the above. But I was told I need to get better viewing material for Thursday's babysitting (as opposed to last night where all I had was ALLADIN & STUART LITTLE).

I just saw that there will be more volumes of Ann Southern's PRIVATE SECRETARY tv show coming out this year.
STAKE IT U.K.!
When did it become the babysitter's responsiblity to provide video entertainment?
And whoever was it who criticized you for not having "better" viewing material than that which you provided??????.
Your job is the provision of safety and protection of someone's child. You should play with the child, either through games or by reading to it.
DR JENNIFER - yes, YIKES for next week's TAR! Rigby's Peter Pan was fun when we saw it onstage. INTO THE WOODS might be a bit much for little one, but then it does have lots of songs and stuff happening....couldn't hurt to give him a look at it!
My suggestion for viewing material: A book. Some sidewalk chalk. A bouncy ball. A nature-item scavenger hunt. Bubbles. Homemade playdough. Pinecone birdfeeders. Fingerpaint. Cookie-baking. Blank paper and new crayons. Easter-egg coloring.
Sorry I wasn't really clear. These aren't some random kids I'm watching. It's my niece and nephew (well actually my sister's husband's sister's kids).
The 4 year old. :)We did games. We did coloring. We did exercise. But this particular child loves watching animated videos. And while we were watching Idol and viewing pictures on the dvd, his parents suggested I put him in my bed so he could watch videos (he would have been bored).
Oh, no wonder I didn't get it, DR RLP. I have avoided that show for a few years because Debra Messing (the NEW Lucille Ball) gets onto my last nerve with her "stage accent" and .... well her HAIR!
I asked the clerk if I could look at the paper since DR Larry Elmore was a friend of mine. The clerk got quite snooty and said in an uppity voice, "Well, I guess so." So I took the paper and started looking for the article at which point....
I woke up.
Freudian analysis welcome. As long as it's free.
We got bathed in "fairy dust" every night and twice on Sundays!!Many of us DRs have had more than our fair share!

I think a 4 year old would be bored with INTO THE WOODS after awhile. There are a lot of stories going on, and the music would seem to be just a bit too sophisticated to hold one's interest at that age.
But I haven't been around many 4 year olds, so what do I know?
Donny Almond Joy?
Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't! ;D
Well, I just have to show the unicorn I found at Macy's flower show.
It bears a certain frightening resemblance to Alf, if you ask me. :)
This is kinda smarmy, and not for the youngsters, but has anyone heard this tape of (allegedly) Pat "The Insider" O'Brien, Captain Smarm himself, repeatedly calling some girl's answering maching and delivering a series of monologues most foul? It's nutty. He has coincidentally checked himself into rehab. Memo to all: do not, in the age of the internet, ever leave any kind of message on someone's voicemail that could ever come back to haunt you.
I would never do that. I would send email.

The Gal was in a Peter Pan when she was little in Gilroy, Calif. There were like 200 kids in this thing, and a lot of money was donated to get the flying apparatus, but they either couldn't use it or weren't allowed to. Still, they wanted to add that extra special something to make the show spectacular, so a live pig was added to the cast.Do the people of Gilroy understand that garlic powder is not an acceptable substitute for pixie dust?
