Thank you, DR Hisaka, for the great pics. The food looked mouth-watering. How any of you folks manage to keep trim is beyond me. If I lived there, I'd weigh 500 pounds.

Just a gentle reminder to dear bk that Monday is a Monday postal holiday. I know you go to a mail service which may indeed be open on Monday, but the regular USPO is closed, at least here it is.

Good morning!

Again, no walk this morning as it's still misty (a Johnny Mathis reference) and mildly humid, enough to make a walk kind of miserable. Hopefully tomorrow morning, there will be clearing and a loss of mugginess.

Thanks for the info last night about the songs for TICKLE ME. I did not know that, and I appreciate the information.

I find most of Elvis' 60s movies pretty unwatchable with the exceptions of BLUE HAWAII and VIVA LAS VEGAS, and I guess it's because of Lansbury and Ann-Margret. The songs are very good in those films, too.

DR Ben - Thanks for the heads up on Emack & Bolio's...  We actually just missed it then.  We turned onto 15th from Eighth Ave., and headed west.   -And then when I didn't see the storefront from the corner of 7th and 15th... "I guess it's further up..."  So...  Guess it just wasn't meant to be.

...And after the Orecchiette Carbonara (with smoked duck breast!) I had last night at The Viceroy, any sort of dessert would been overkill.

DR Danise - You cried during that moment in Fiddler not because you were tired, but because it's a very moving moment.  The whole second act of that show is filled with potential "cyring traps".

Well, sometimes you just gotta get out of the house and take a walk or run... even when it's drizzling, hot, humid, etc...

;)

Remember: No pain, no gain.

*But just make sure it's always a "good pain", and not a "bad pain".

**And always consult your physician before starting any sort of fitness regime.

***Just had to get those disclaimers out the way.  Don't want any lawsuits coming my way.

Even though I'm not a big fan of the show, I get choked up every time I see that train station scene.

Good morn, all. I'm weary today. And wary. I feel like I could sleep for a couple of days and be happy - I'm still resting up from the walking tour. :)

Hisaka: Thank you for the lovely pictures. I'm so glad you had a good time in L.A.

Cillaliz: Safe travels!! Can't wait to see your pictures, too!

Jose: What time are your auditions over today? Our office is closing at 3:00...

A cybic would suggest that the photographer waited for the right "special" customer to be searched.

A real cynic would suggest the paper hired an extra for the event.

Then there those who are bever satisifed:Advice: want your bags searcehed - wear a turban!

der Brucer

"cybic"?

"bever"?

"searcehed"?

-I think you need a better editor.  ;)

OH!  And what size and color turban would you like?

Jose: What time are your auditions over today? Our office is closing at 3:00...

I'm supposed to be done by 4:00.  However, it looks like I may be heading out to dinner with some of my "new" Damn Yankees' cast mates around 5:00.  No definite meeting place has been decided upon yet, but once I get word...

-And I'm still waiting to hear back from Amanda about tix for tonight.  I'll make some phone calls and call you back.

-Did you remember your cell phone today?

Subways are for sleeping, and.....(Above from the Associated Press)

Note to Jose: as a frequent Subway user I suggest you memorize these lines...

der ever-helpful Brucer

Well...

If I had seen that woman in distress on the subway, I would have offered her the shirt off my back too.  Life can be funny at times.  Bringing a life into the world is serious, miraculous and joyous.

And I'd like to see you quoting that line here in the subway system... especially in my neighborhood.

I'm DISGUSTED!

DISGUSTED

I sent the following to Amazon.com's "so-called" customer service this morning:

"I have a question I would like for Mr. Bezos to read:

"What has happened to customer service at Amazon.com?

"On Wednesday (10/5) and Thursday (10/6) I wrote to you concerning the following:

[Order Date: August 29, 2005
Order #: 102-2857040-4633723
Recipient: Ron Pulliam
Items not yet shipped:
Delivery estimate: October 10, 2005 1 of: Cinderella (Disney Special Platinum Edition) ]

"Notice the order date and the 'Items Not Yet Shipped' notation.

"This was a 2nd-day-delivery ship-as-item-is-available order.

"A PRE-order.

"You had this item in stock on Tuesday, 10/4!

"When I wrote you yesterday, the listing for this item had a note telling customers that if they ordered within the next 4 hours and so many minutes, they could have it by today, 10/7.

"Yet...please NOTE...my pre-ordered 2nd-day-delivery ship-as-item-is-available order HAS NOT YET SHIPPED.

"There was a time when Amazon.com, upon becoming aware of such a problem, would have moved heaven and earth to rectify it.

"I didn't require a response.  A visit to my account seeing "Item SHIPPED" would have been sufficient.  On Wednesday.  On Thursday.  Even today (Friday).

"But NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE.

"IS ANYBODY THERE.  And most importantly: DOES ANYBODY CARE?

"I'm truly shocked and amazed and disappointed!"

Can you spell DISGUSTED?

M-O-O-N, that spells DISGUSTED!

I did, indeed!

Give me a call once you find something out. I'll probably risk my life and head back to my apartment after work, so I'll need at least an hour's notice if I need to be in Union Square, just to allow a few extra minutes for any cavity...um....bag searches. If you can't get tickets and would like to see a movie or something instead, that's cool, too. Or not...I'm just goin' with the flow today.  :)

DR TPunk, I taped ALIAS last night (since i was watching Survivor).  If you can't find a copy (and really want to see it) i could either a) send you the tape after i watch it or b) copy it to dvd, which is very easy. Let me know.

Well, geez, Jed.  She didn't need to know!

DR RLP will no doubt be pleased to know that my copy of "Cinderella" did not arrive in today's mail.  Maybe Monday.

Had I said "Come Monday" I would of course have mentioned Jimmy Buffet.

Oh, Tom, of course I'm pleased!

Hmmm...

Just watching the Noon News...  Lots of coverage of the stepped-up security measures on not only the New York Subway system, but on the surrounding rail and bus lines...

Hmmm...

And they keep using the term "disconnect" in reference to the cooperation between the various federal and state and local agencies.

I don't know if Jose will be able to lead us in a tour next year , unless he travels in disguise, as all his Lestat  groupies will, no doubt, be following him wherever he goes
Don't be silly; Lestat groupies only come out at night.

Ohhh....

Didn't realize they had closed Penn Station earlier this morning... They found a "suspicious" soda bottle with green liquid in it...  But it turned out to be harmless...

*However, it would be kind of funny if it just turned out to be Mountain Dew.  But...

Better safe, than sorry.
