I'm sure they must have many.  I seriously doubt that all of any one person's emails go to the same person. In fact I'm quite certain that they don't.

But I thought amazon had a policy to respond within 24 hours.

Well..  I'm guessing Amazon.com's customer service "ratio" is somewhat similar to Microsoft, Citibank, etc...

Let's say you have 10,000 customer service reps.  Potentially millions of customers.  One item happens to be out of stock.  100,000 people ordered it..  Each of those customers sends an e-mail...  And then there's another item that does not ship to another 100,000 customers... And so on and so on...  You do math.

I'm not saying that justifies anything, but when you're one company dealing with millions of customers, there's bound to be a problem or two.. or thousand each day.

I guess I don't understand how priority customer RLP's DVD could NOT be shipped when they are obviously shipping current orders like mad!

I understand, DRJASON, but what is a customer supposed to do when he sends an URGENT email and gets NO response at all?  Wait...and wait...and wait?  Reps should also understand that customers send emails because there is a problem with the service (usually, although sometimes it is their fault, too)  or a situation as arisen that needs attention.  And it is NOT always the customer's fault.

But it is the old "us against them" mentality that always surfaces - and there are TWO sides to EVERY story.  Even though MY side is the side that should be  dealt with first.

I understand why DR RLP won't go buy the DVD someplace else - he paid EXTRA for a special service and he followed the rules (that Amazon.com set up) to get his product.  Why should he be inconvenienced?

Oh well.  I have been on BOTH sides of the situation.

I'm sure that there are 1000 possible reasons why Amazon.com has not contacted DR Ron in response to his emails. My first thought is that they're incredibly busy. Or maybe his emails aren't going through. Or maybe theirs aren't going through to his email provider. Or...or...or. All incoming emails to MTI are scanned by a spam filter. Many legit emails have been blocked or discarded for reasons beyond our understanding or control. Emails are never dependable when it is imperative to conduct business and obviously a phone call is much more effective. If a customer has an urgent matter to attend to ("Help! Someone switched my husband's beer cooler and he now has someone's kidney on ice!"), then they should probably call. After only a few short moments of searching Google.com, I found their customer service phone and FAX numbers. Here they are:

Phone: (800) 201-7575
Fax: (206) 266-2950

Though it may take a bit of searching for the number, no major company in the United States is without a phone.

Hi guys!  I'm posting from my friends house in NJ.  I wanted to show them the board and what a great bunch of people you are.

I will be getting the 4 o'clock train back to NY so I will be back in time for dinner and or a show if anyone is up for it.

I'm having a wonderful time!

Dearest elmore - nice Darling of the Day mention!  Will you be traveling out to see the show during its run?

DRvixmom, no, I don't believe so.  There's been too much tension on this production, beginning with the lady producing this version in Chicago, and continuing with resistance to my efforts to protect the composer's interests.

Hmmm...

Just watching the Noon News...  Lots of coverage of the stepped-up security measures on not only the New York Subway system, but on the surrounding rail and bus lines...

I've been hither and yon today:  complete physical exam at 9:30  which went on till 10:30 with tests and all, then a trek to Madison and 38th to see my attorney.  After that, it took me another hour on the bus to get to 14th Street and Seventh Avenue.  Penn Station was a mass of police, and the uptown bus ride took forever because of all the traffic congestion.  All in all, a terrible gridlock day, mainly - I suspect - because everyone's driving rather than subwaying today.

I'm back in rainy Salem, Oregon! Got back to the home environment around 2 am and it was good to see Freddy again, but I miss New York and all the wonderful DRs that I met whilst I was there! I had such a fantastic time while I was there and I have to especially thank Elmore3003, Rodzinski, and TPunk for providing shelter and pretty much taking care of me and making sure I had a safe and fun trip in the big Apple! And JoseP for taking so much time to show me around (how will I ever forget the Condom Store! )...four of the finest people I have ever met and I really appreciate all you guys putting up with me and helping make this a trip to remember!

And to all the other DRs I met along the way during my NY stay...holy cow, what did I ever do to earn such good karma that I should get to meet and hang out with such a wonderful group of people!!!!

You're back safe?  I'll never pass Go and collect that $3million!

Ah, yes... I had to resort to some covert activities during the Walking and Eating Tour...  DR Jason was my accomplice.  I decided to hold back a bit while Jason led the gang up to Magnolia.  I thought Michael would get a kick out of the store.  -And they even have custom-sized ones now!  -Well, at least 51 different sizes.  And they even have a handy-dandy sizing chart.  How convenient.

-OK - Let's see what kind of responses this post generates...

Calling DRs elmore and TCB!

:D

You cannot imagine the unprintable things about this store and you that I've been pondering!  I'll let TCB run with it.  Did you get my email about Artie's on Sunday?
