Well, you've read the notes, the notes were scintillating and stringy, and now it is time for you to post until the scintillating cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: HARMONY!
-
First post after BK.
-
Those are some great pictures in your notes, BK!
-
Topic of the Day: the only people I've blocked were people requesting to be friends but I had no idea who they were. Why would someone want to "friend" a complete stranger. ::)
-
I've spoken of my annoyances at a poster on All That Chat called ryhog (Ryan Hogan is his name) - he came to the B'way World board, too, and he's a complete twit, and often feels it necessary to snark any comments I make. So, I went directly to the owner of the site, who made the fine suggestion to simply block his posts - he told me how, and I did so and haven't seen anything since then, so that's good. But I was just over there and looking at a thread that the moderators had locked and may keep locked. You know what, I was going to tell you some funny stuff, but I realized our disgusting stalker is on the board, probably under a variety of names, so I shan't say anything more other than I could have a good deal of fun should the notion overtake me.
-
Playwright Peter Nichols has passed away - in his 90s, so a nice, long life. He was, I thought, a wonderful writer, and I had the pleasure of co-starring in his play Forget-Me-Not Lane at the Mark Taper Forum, and then in the filmed version for PBS' Theater in America.

Interesting.

Today, all the library branches, and the Service Center where I work, will be closed to the public. It's our annual All Staff Training Retreat. Those who choose to participate (it's optional), will meet at a local-ish Great Wolf Lodge (https://www.greatwolf.com/grand-mound) and have a break-out session and some other workshops about library stuff that has nothing to do with what I do in my job. So, I'm taking the day off!

I have that DVD. :)
-
Time for bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all.
-
I have the DVD as well.....
-
Looking at the lists yesterday, I realized how many LP's I missed on my list.
-
Great photos in the notes.
-
I was thinking on Sunday that I had gotten through the entire season without my car having to go to the shop.....
-
Tonight is family night....the show opens on Thursday.
Guess where my car is?
-
In the shop. The battery light came on last night.....I await the bad news via telephone.
Today is also my six month check up with my oncologist. I am hoping he puts me on Yearly check ups after today....and that my car doesn't cost $1000.
-
T.O.D.
Yes, I've blocked people on FB because they weren't "nice".
-
Good morning, all!
-
Thanks for the good sleeping vines last night. They did no good at all. I'm suspecting my sleeping is affected by how much stress I've put on my legs and yesterday they got a lot of stress. Rather than simply going to City Center, I had to go to the pharmacy first, then walk back to the bus stop to board another bus to City Center. The sidewalks on 56th Street slant downward to the street, which forces me to force myself to stand upright on a slope. It's painful.
-
So, I slept poorly and I just emailed Joshie that I won't be in today. When I've cleaned the litter, I'll call my HMO and fight over this claim.
-
I got a nice message from my doctor about postponing the sinus operation.
-
DR TCB, I hope your day today goes smoothly.
-
Pain free vibes fir Elmore

Winning the HMO battle for Elmore

Strongest vibes fir a excellent checkup for Jack
-
Cheap and easy car fix vibes for Jack

I don’t recall ever blocking or “unfriending” anyone, but I was I “unfriended” and blocked by a person I was friends with since 1977, a person who became a second career minister, a person whom I thought I knew well. When I expressed my surprise and asked for an explanation as to how the hateful political rhetoric she was posting could be supported by the teachings of Christ, she promptly replied that her 401K had never been doing so well and then cut me off.
I was distressed , not by the shunning, but at the loss of her soul.
-
And now to work
-
I just spoke to both my HMO and Westside Radiology. Now I wait.
-
Page 2 Dance!
-
Good morning, all.
-
OMG, where did this lack of energy come from?
I have to be out of here in a few minutes, and all I want to do is crawl back into bed.
-
Car vibes for DR Jrand.
-
MEGA CHECK UP VIBES FOR DR JRAND!
-
I got a nice message from my doctor about postponing the sinus operation.
That was nice of your doctor.
-
Winning the HMO battle for Elmore
Ditto!
-
This morning I am repeating my 3 month glucose test, along with a 2 hour fasting glucose test. Fingers crossed my results are greatly improved.
-
MEGA CHECK UP VIBES FOR DR JRAND!
Mega more!
-
I'm up, I'm up - six hours of sleep - maybe I'll try to get another hour shortly.

I got about 3 hours of sleep last night. Six sounds good to me :)

Tuesday afternoon greetings! I've spent the morning updating the AAUW Middletown website, after receiving my yearly program book at last night's meeting. We're in for a good year.
-
Also, I've been watching a couple of videos that may be of interest only to DR Elmore, but I promised to share them when they were created 3 years ago. Just finally found them linked on the website for the library where my career began. You might remember when I participated in the oral history project for the 50th anniversary of Miami University Middletown. Here is the complete footage of the library session:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=gHvIAVQTcPU
I'm up front with the current library director and a now-retired staff member who began her tenure with me and retired with him. You'll see Richard in the back and next to him, in the blue blazer, is my dear friend Rebecca. I worked with 2 of the 3 former student assistants in the library and with the 3rd in theatre productions. He's now our neighbor.
This next video is the session about the Dave Finkelman Auditorium, the fantastic (but woefully underutilized) performing arts venue on campus:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=14tkZeAGCio
The front row is a fellow performer, a former technical director (who has since passed on :'(), and the current technical director. DR Elmore knows most of the people in the back row, too.
These are long, so I'll understand if no one else cares to watch.
-
DR Ginny, is that John Minor in the second row of the library interview?
-
DR Ginny, is that John Minor in the second row of the library interview?
Yes, DR Elmore, John is right behind me in the library interview and next to me in the auditorium. John had worked in the library as a student, but had transferred to Oxford before I arrived.
-
I'm up again. Got another hour of sleep.
-
Good evening!
-
I shall now be on my way to seven hours of casting.
-
Thursday we had the car serviced. On the way home Keith noticed the air bag light was on.
-
Friday he returned the car and was given a loaner while they tried to figure out the problem. They determined the air bag needed replacing.
-
We were sure, considering the timing, a wire had come lose. Nope they insisted, it couldn't have happened. They ordered a replacement. Apparently air bags can not be flown on planes & must be transported by land. It was to arrive tomorrow.
-
This afternoon they called to say someone adjusted the seat in order to move the car & the light went out. Guess what, a wire under the seat came lose, has been fixed, and all is good now.
-
Thank goodness they gave us a loaner with a full tank of gas.
-
Car dealer horror stories.
-
More an annoyance than horror ;D
-
They were very nice about it.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Playwright Peter Nichols has passed away - in his 90s, so a nice, long life. He was, I thought, a wonderful writer, and I had the pleasure of co-starring in his play Forget-Me-Not Lane at the Mark Taper Forum, and then in the filmed version for PBS' Theater in America.
That version was the first production of his work that I thought of when I read the obit.
-
I am shocked at Vixmom's story. I do know that sometimes people turn out to not be the people we think they are, but that was so crass! Vibes that never happens again!
-

Many vibes for Jrand!
-
Glad your car problem was resolved, Jane. Maybe the service people learned something.
-
HMO vibes to Larry.
Like Jane, my experience has been that they won't even schedule an appointment without an approval. At first I thought they had their priorities mixed up, but it actually helps you from getting stuck with a bill.
-
Check-up AND auto repair vibes for Jrand.
-
Kudos and thanks to ChasSmith for his efforts on THE CREATURE.
-

I hope so.

I am shocked at Vixmom's story. I do know that sometimes people turn out to not be the people we think they are, but that was so crass! Vibes that never happens again!
I had to read the woman's response twice. Aside from the fact it was a horrible response, I couldn't find the logic in her argument.
-
TCB, did you mean that you had to go back to purchase another charger? Or you purchased a new scooter?
-

I had to read the woman's response twice. Aside from the fact it was a horrible response, I couldn't find the logic in her argument.
During the first six months of Trump's presidency the stock market went up about 15%. My take was that was what she was referring to. Vixmom will have to tell us if that is correct.
Kim Basinger once made the comment that sex sells. In today's world I would rephrase that to say that hate sells. At least for some.
-
On that note I will bid you adieu.

Good point. Still, to me, it isn't an argument supporting the teachings of Christ.
Sadly I agree with you about hate selling.
-
Also, I've been watching a couple of videos that may be of interest only to DR Elmore,
Ginny, So this the point where my head exploded and I had to reconsider everything I thought I knew about you,

That is indeed correct, Jeanne

I found a creamy blueberry salad dressing, so tonight I had a salad of mixed greens with sliced strawberries, blueberries, sweet peppers, cucumbers, blackberries, sun flower kernels and blueberry salad dressing
-
Vixdad opted for tomatoes and onions in place of the fruit and had the tomato and vildalia onion dressing

I haven't blocked anyone on fb and don't know that anyone has blocked me, but then I might not. I have been unfriended by a few people.
The people I unfriended were not out of anger or disappointment in them. I wanted to reduce my friends & hadn't really connected with them.
Then there was this one guy I met on the West L.A. page. We had mutual friends from high school so I accepted his friend request. He was apparently smitten with me after seeing an old photo & would message with me too often & made me somewhat uncomfortable. I even asked a couple of the women from his class if he was ok. Keith kept telling me to get rid of him. The guy briefly deactivated his account. I took advantage of it and unfriended him. When he returned to fb & asked me to be his friend again I declined.

Is this woman at your church? I can't imagine having to listen to her knowing the truth about what she really feels.

No she is currently serving a Presbyterian church on Staten Island

DR Vixmom I am glad you commented as I had not opened the links. I had thought these were only for DR elmore & did not realize these videos starred our own DR Ginny :)

There’s a lot of campus detail that may not interest anyone else. DR Elmore’s name does come up in the one about the auditorium.

It was another long day at work with way too much to get done. Meetings stacked up at the same time and then canceled but the work still has to get done.
-
Let's move on ...
-
Four!
-
Back to Riverdale. I think I have nine episodes left in the season.
-
I guess I'll finish it before I get the last season of Poldark.
-
When I was on Facebook, I had to block several fake newsers and conspiracy theorists. I was beginning to dislike people, who, outside of politics, were my friends.
-
Looking forward to the 42nd Street perhaps the most of this fun lineup.

I've gotten to the Riverdale episode where they stage Heathers, the Musical. Fun.
-
Good evening.
-
I have only blocked one person. I have unfriended some folks I have had no contact with for a few years.
-
Good evening, from Show Hell.
Actually, that should be the name of a show.
-
Good night, all.
-
Back from our first casting session - turns out it was only four-and-a-half hours. After, we went to Dino's Pizza and ate an obscene amount of pepperoni, but thankfully it's pretty thin and the slices are on the small side.
-
Saw some good people.
-
~~~VIBES FOR EVERYONE FOR EVERYTHING!!~~~
-
I don’t think I will make it back here before midnight. Sorry, see you tomorrow.
Hi, Tom.
-
Bye, Tom.
-
Thursday we had the car serviced. On the way home Keith noticed the air bag light was on.
Friday he returned the car and was given a loaner while they tried to figure out the problem. They determined the air bag needed replacing.
I've had my car for more than 21 years and it's never indicated a problem like that.
-
Whenever I hear about others who've had these problems, I always wonder if my indicator light even works. :-\
-
This afternoon they called to say someone adjusted the seat in order to move the car & the light went out. Guess what, a wire under the seat came lose, has been fixed, and all is good now.
Whew!
-
Page FOUR??? Guess I may as well delay writing the notes.
-
Most unseemly.
-
jan hasn't been here in days and days.
-
We notice these things.
-
Looking forward to the 42nd Street perhaps the most of this fun lineup.
http://www.playbill.com/article/dates-set-for-pbs-broadcasts-of-kelli-ohara-led-the-king-and-i-west-ends-kinky-boots-more
I saw that, too!
-
I can't wait!!
-
I hope I don't forget! :o
-
Saw some good people.
That's always nice!
-
I'm watching tonight's America's Got Talent semi-finals.
-
I'm only watching the performances and fast-forwarding through EVERYTHING else.
-
PAGE FIVE DANCE!!
-
I especially fast-forward through the judges comments. ::)
-
And when they introduce the judges...what I call "the glorification of the judges." :P
-
Gratuitous Post #123!
-
Today was just going to be a day of me only watching TV and doing laundry.
-
But my sister called and needed me to put up some shelves in her bathroom.
-
The shelving brackets were different than the kind that she's put up before, so she didn't know how to put up these.
-
Then we put a tarp over the chicken coop because water leaks into it.
-
I don't know anything about water-proofing a chicken coop (or water-proofing anything), so I couldn't help with that.
-
Hence the tarp.
-
Fortunately, she knows someone who's done some handy-work for her, so she'll ask him about it.
-
Whew!
-
I was there for about two and a half hours.
-
After I left my sister's house, I went to the Tumwater Happy Teriyaki (http://happyteriyaki5.com/) for dinner.
-
I get their Love Salad (http://happyteriyaki5.com/teriyaki-tumwater-restaurant-wa/?mid=menu8) (it's really called that) and a diet Pepsi. :)
-
Tomorrow, I'm thinking about going to the Fathom Event documentary, You Are Here—A Come From Away Story (http://www.playbill.com/article/watch-a-clip-from-the-new-documentary-you-are-herea-come-from-away-story).
