For those films where professional reviewers have labeled edge enhancement, I think they were using front projection systems with seven foot screens or larger in order to see it. Those of us with 65" TV screens or less would never notice such things.

Good evening all

I'm watching A Wrinkle In Time on ABC. Is anyone watching it? So far, I'm not too impressed. First of all, WHY ISN'T MEG WEARING GLASSES? I don't get it...that was such a bit part of her character.
Second...I don't like the way they've portrayed Mrs. Murray. She's not the calm level headed woman she is in the book.
Okay, I won't say anything more for now...I'll give it a chance.

I read in ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY that this movie has been sitting on ABC's shelf for over two years. They're basically burning it off. It wasn't projected in high definition either, another sure sign it was done some years ago.

Back from my (WGA) union meeting. There was a fatal accident on the route, so traffic was terrible and they held the beginning. The meeting was somewhat informative - and a couple of the speakers were actually amusing (the screenwriter Phil Alden Robinson for one) in a depressing fashion. (I'm too hungry to explain that one.) On the way out - I left early - after 2 hours - I was cornered by a reporter from the Hollywood Reporter (is that redundant?) who wanted my thoughts on wht went on. Boy did he have the wrong vampire! His beat is union stuff and lawsuits. A fun job. I told him nothing worthwhile and made him promise not to quote me on the nothing I told nim, but as he wasn't allowed into the meeting, he was grateful for the nothing. Now I'm going to have supper.

As To The Northwest HHW Get-together.

The last time I brought the subject up, I think it was Jane who asked what was wrong with holding it in September instead. I assumed that she was thinking how difficult it would be to get all of us together in the middle of summer, with vacations, holidays, etc., etc, etc. I still think it is a great idea, whenever we decide to get together. However, since I am sure that JMK, and family, will want to put all of us up at their place for the weekend, perhaps they should have a say in when we hold the event.
