DR Francois, I remember FAMILY, it was one of my favorite shows at the time.  I'm a year older than Kristy McNichol, so I really related to her then. Wasn't John Rubenstein the brother? Guess I could look at the link

No! Gary Frank was! John R. was husband to oldest daughter played by..... forgot her name... and I typed it yesterday... Meredith Birney! Classy lady! And John was NOT a good husband!

I thought they were my family away from home! (I was young... my "excuse"! ;)

DRDanise, I love you, but someone should kick your butt.  You should have hired sme neighborhood kid to cut it down while you supervised.

IF she had... there would not be anything left of the tree and the dish would be gone! ;)

She WAS then!

(Hey! I'm French; you can't expect me to know that much about American entertainment!) ;)

Btw, how did you like my pun yesterday? I was very "proud" to come up with that! Maybe I should not be... I guess... I mean... Oh well! ;D

I think I found my new home office color...it's called mother nature.  It's a nice muted green. The office is on the second floor with lots of windows. There are trees outside that will be full of lovely leaves most of the year, I thought the green will make it feel a bit like a tree house.

Home Depot has a way you can buy a sample for a few bucks, think I'll go get one of that color so I can try it out before diving in. This color thing is so new to me, but I'm having fun with it.

Ever since we talked about favorite Jones / Schmidt songs, I have had the song I DO, I DO stuck in my head.  There is nothing wrong with that, becasue I love the song; but it is kind of like a goldfish singing about the Sahara.

And how is Mr. Schmidt doing?

In honor of our milestone of 190,000 plus posts today I hereby announce that Anthony will be gone for part of the summer. He's going back to Mill Mountain Theatre in Roanoke, VA to play Maurice (Belle's father) in Beauty and the Beast. He's not wild about the fact that he's playing a father (at his young age). He thought he would be cast as Cogsworth or Lumiere but a part's a part as they say. It's six weeks of work in an otherwise desolate landscape. He will be gone from May 23rd to July 2nd. I will just have to depend on the kindness of New York HHWs to keep me company. I've already had kind offers from Rodzinkski and TPunk.

That's the news from a windy and rather cool Chelsea. It's hard to believe that Monday will be the first day of Spring.

We're having Tuna Glop for dinner tonight, BTW.

The French version is called

Adieu! Adieu!

which, I think, is a mistake!

A Deux, A Deux would be more appropriate!

This in honour of Antoine!

Belle:
Papa, do you think I'm...odd?
Maurice:
My daughter odd? Where did you get an idea like that?
Belle:
I don't know. It's just that, well, people talk.
Maurice:
They talk about me, too.
Maurice:
No, we're not odd, its true
No fam'ly ever saner
Except one uncle who...well, maybe let that pass
In all you say or do
You couldn't make it plainer
You are your mother's daughter; therefore you are class
Belle:
So I should just accept
I'm simply not like them
Maurice:
They are the common herd
And you should take my word
You are unique: creme de la creme
No matter what you do
I'm on your side
And if my point of view
Is somewhat misty-eyed
There's nothing clearer in my life
Than what I wish and feel for you
And that's a lot...
No matter what
Belle:
No matter what they say
You make me proud
I love the funny way
You stand out from the crowd
Maurice:
It's my intention my invention
Shows the world out there one day
Just what we've got...
Belle:
No matter what
Maurice:
Now some may say all fathers just exaggerate
Belle:
That ev'ry daughter's great?
Maurice:
You are!
Belle:
And ev'ry daughter tends to say her father's tops
Maurice:
She pulls out all the stops
To praise him
Belle:
And quite rightly!
Maurice:
No matter what the pain
We've come this far
I pray that you remain
Exactly as you are
This really is a case of father knowing best
Belle:
And daughter too!
Maurice:
You're never strange
Belle:
Don't ever change
Both:
You've all I've got
No matter what.
