Topic of the Day (what I could think of...and in alphabetical order):

1776
Aladdin
Beauty and the Beast
Hairspray
Hercules
The Hunchback of Notre Dame
Jesus Christ Superstar
The Lion King
The Little Mermaid
Little Shop of Horrors
Mamma Mia!

They're not all my absolute favorites, but certainly some of the more preferred.

I'm glad to say the Cinerama discs have arrived. They didn't get held by Customs but were shipped via Germany hence the slight delay.

I will add Back to the Beach, just because it was fun to see everyone again....although there were no original songs.

TOD

Broadway musicals first:

"1776" is my number one, no question.  I used to like "Jesus Christ Superstar", with a few qualifications, but have no idea how I'd feel about it now.  I always wanted to like the "Fiddler on the Roof" film more than I actually ended up liking it (this one needs to be revisited at a time when I'm in just the right mood for it).  I do like "Hair" more than I used to.  Believe it or not, I've never seen "Little Shop".

I dunno, it's tough.  Whatever their various flaws, the filmed musicals of the '50s/'60s are the ones that ring my bell, now and forever.

Original Disney stuff, etc., no problem:

Bedknobs and Broomsticks
The Lion King
Beauty and the Beast
The Hunchback of Notre Dame
The Little Mermaid

South Park:  Bigger Longer & Uncut

Oh I did like SOUTH PARK as well.  The soundtrack CD is very funny on it's own.

The number felt so fresh when I first heard it in that theater on 3rd Avenue and 57th Street in the Bloomingdales area, as fresh as... well, I actually liked the whole experience, as silly as the whole thing was, i really did, i'm not going to make too much fun.

Saturday morning greetings!  I slept like a rock last night and woke up quite refreshed about 7:30am.  In an hour or so, I'll make my way to Tina's for a haircut.  This afternoon, Michigan football - Go, Blue!

I just got up after a very fitful night.  You'd think I'd be a lot more fit today after being so full of fit last night.  But no.

Having just watched "This is Cinerama" I like some of Max Steiner's music but I see that the Label X CD goes for enormous prices. Maybe a label like Kritzerland could reissue it?
