My cousin just emailed me and she asked me if I remembered anything about a smallpox quarantine when our mothers were young. My grandfather had had smallpox, so he moved to his sister's house and ran errands and delivered groceries to my grandmother, who was stuck inside the house with the seven children.

I don't remember ever hearing about that.

It is shocking that they wouldn't have been vaccinated. I did a quick search and not all states made it compulsory to be vaccinated.

Along with my work I assumed receptionist duties...basically answering the phone because were not allowing anyone else in the building except delivery services...USPS, FedeX, UPS...
