I was on-line but I was NOT in this forum.

Mucho, mucho apologies to Michael Callan. I truly thought he died and died a long time ago. I don't have a clue who I've gotten him mixed up with. I'm really shocked (but throughly delighted) to read that he is still among us.

I do this kind of thing all the time. I'm about eighty percent sure that Jon Lovitz died about six years ago, even though people keep telling me that he's still alive.

And when I saw Bill Irwin on the Tony Awards, I said, "This guy is doing a really good impression of Bill Irwin. Too bad Bill Irwin is dead. He'd think this guy was really good."

My mom looked at me really funny and informed me that it really was Bill Irwin. I'm sure I remember him dying. It was right after Jon Lovitz died.

Bill Irwin is most definitely alive, and had a great series at Signature 2 years ago. I went up  to NY for the revival of "In Regard of Flight". A truly magical night of theatre!

For years, when I saw John Gielgud, I always thought that he had died. But he was making movies until he was 96. What a career!

I was trying to remember the French film where someone shows up at the door with a mohawk hairstyle and the other person says (in French) "What kind of hairstyle is that"

"Iroquois".

"Quois?"

"Iroqouis".

"Quois?"

LOL...

But before I go...

And, remember, if you'd like to participate in this year's HHW Oscar Pool:

If you go to www.oscars.com, just click on The Sweepstakes link, then to Predict the Winners.  Or just click below:

http://predict.oscar.go.com/predict/frontpage

I've gone ahead and started the group: HainesHisWay.  -And, yes, the motto is "What is it, fish?".

The password is: benjamin

*You will need to register with abc.com, but just make sure to check/uncheck all the "marketing email" boxes as you desire.  But if you were a part of this last year, you log-in and password should still be active.

And like last year, I'm pretty sure I can come up with a Sparkling Prize or two for this year's winning predictors.

I made another mistake today when I said that tonight's MONK and PSYCH were their season finales. Actually, they're next Friday night.

Perhaps I just need to go back to bed and pretend today never happened.

I began the evening with MR. MOTO'S GAMBLE. This was the film that actually began as a CHARLIE CHAN movie and when Warner Oland died, it was switched over to a MR. MOTO picture. It is certainly more of a murder mystery than the first four MOTOs were.

I had never seen this one before, and I was proud that I figured out the murderer's identity.

Wonderful character actor cast including Ward Bond as the heavyweight champion and John Hamilton and Pierre Watkin, two actors who both played Perry White in the SUPERMAN series and the SUPERMAN serials, in supporting roles.

GHOST WHISPERER had a good episode tonight, for a change a spirit who wasn't angry and seeking vengeance. The fact that there were two spirits made it different and doubly interesting.

Have the girls tried their boney-toe flakes yet?

Yes, Callie likes them very much. They are cut a little finer than the ones from the pet store, so she looked at me like "What, crumbs?" but after about 1-2 seconds, she gobbles them up while purring.  Boo has never thought much about them.

MONK had a real mystery tonight, too, instead of a COLUMBO-style plot where we see the murder committed and then watch Monk figure out who and how.

This one was more straightforward and, for me, more enjoyable.

And PSYCH had another episode that was full of goofy fun and high spirits this time involving poker playing. I always feel so good when this show wraps up. James Roday and Dule Hill really have a great buddy vibe that makes the whole show tremendously enjoyable.

I just joined too, although I have no idea why. I don't know anything at all from any of the movies. I'll have my cat make the predictions for me, since he knows as much about it as I do.

I meant to post this last night and forgot about it.

I was reading the review in VARIETY of the Michael York CAMELOT, and I was simply appalled to see that my favorite song in the score - "I Loved You Once in Silence" - has been dropped from this production. Gone also was Mordred's "Seven Dealy Virtues," and I guess "Fie on Goodness" has been gone for decades, but I really was surprised about "Silence."

One of my dearest friends is playing King Pellinore.

Well, because of winds, my flight was delayed 2 and a half hours, and I got into my apartment around 12:30 AM.  I will catch up on the posts and crash.

G'night, all!  Thanks for the vibes.

There was a singer named Michael Calle[/i]n[/url] who died in 1993, but I don't think that that's who you're thinking of, at all.

He used to sing with an a cappella group called The Flirtations and they were fabulous!  I saw The Flirts (as they were known) here in Olympia, shortly after Michael left the group for health reasons, but before he died.  The group also was in the movie "Philadelphia" with Tom Hanks and Antonio Banderas during the birthday party scene.

Michael Callen was a founding member of the New York City Gay Men's Chorus and a wonderful singer.  He co-wrote "Love don't Need A Reason" with Masha Malamud(spelling?), whom I haven't seen in years, and Peter Allen.
