I liked Tetris and a game called Galaga. It was a space invaders type game and when I was on the road w/Sesame Street Live I would go to the mall and play the game in arcades. I became very, very good. Of course, I never played against anyone, but still, I left my initials on many a game console around the country in 1982.

Here is another site with a picture of the arcade game and the logo

That looks a lot like the space invaders game I played on Atari.  It wasn't the real space invaders, I don't remember the name of it

In New York on Monday the Feds have a holiday and many state offices are closed as well including many banks. Capital One is open and Commerce is open. Columbus Day is not the big holiday it used to be. We used to get it off at the office but that stopped about 10 years ago.

I can play Tetris on my rarely used cell phone. There are 3 games if I recall correctly, Tetris, Sudoku and something else.

I may watch a new Mitzi Gaynor special on PBS. Apparently it's an edited version of a DVD set about to come out comprised of segments from various appearances on variety shows over the years. Channel 21 is doing a one-day fundraising splurge and using Ms. Gaynor as a draw.

The State of Iowa has the day after Thanksgiving as a holiday.  Now that's practical if you ask me.  The feds don't but no one seems to work, they all take vacation time

I will be going to the theatre tomorrow. I'm seeing Skip's show, Herringbone, with Larry and Skip. We are leaving tomorrow morning at 11 so I will be gone most of the day. I guess I'm trying to make up for that by posting now (not that I post much on the weekends anyway, even though I've been a bachelor for the past 10 weeks).

Mr. Goldstein sent Mae-Ling over to play while Wae-Ling was home sick. We had brunch and then went to the river. Here she is eating pancakes:

Here she is crossing the stream:

And yes, she did fall in.

Here she is looking for dragonflies:

Channel 21 will soon be off the air, methinks.   ;D

I must toddle off now to play various tunes in asymmetrical time signatures.

I challenge Ben to a game of Galaga! They have this ay my laundromat so I have also left my initials on it many times!

Tetris is my 2nd favorite but I'm not very good at it. And I also love Frogger and used to play Space Invaders every day at lunch when I was a construction worker.

Wasn't there a song from the old campfire days:

What's your name, little boy?
My name is Phlegmy
Phlegmy what, little boy?
Phlegmy Kissya!

What's your name little girl?
My name is Ida.
Ida what little girl?
Ida wanna!!

What's your name little boy?
My name is Phlegmy
Phlegmy what little boy?
Phlegmy Kissya!

What's your name little girl?
My name is Ima.
Ima what little girl?
Ima Scared!

What's your name little girl?
My name's Alaska.
Alakska what little girl?
Alask Mymommy!

What's your name little boy?
My name is Phlegmy
Phlegmy what little boy?
Phlegmy Kissya!

What's your name little girl?
My name is Lena.
Lena what little girl?
Lena Closer!

I liked the mucis for that song.  It was quite infectious.

Back from a terrific LACCTAA event and some dinner at a nearby Eyetalian eatery.  My voice actually got better as we went along - didn't cough at all and was able to be heard.  The panelists were GREAT - all had great stories to tell, answered my questions with such honesty and humor, and the audience of about fifty-five ate it all up then asked very smart questions of their own.  Everyone on the panel was different - some had become writers, some producers, some still acted, a real potpourri, but all in the show business.  From the actor point of view Harrison Page was so passionate and positive, which is probably why he's had a successful career for forty years.  In introducing him, I said my favorite film of his is Beyond The Valley Of The Dolls.  Annette Cardona (Cha Cha in the film of Grease) was wonderful in discussing a recent detour she knew she had to take (she completed her masters degree and is now teaching and loves it), but how she still keeps her hand in.  I told a few of my stories, Clent Bowers talked about his B'way shows, Phil Kellard was very funny in talking about his writing/producing career, and also offering tips to the young actors in attendance on what he looks for when actors come in to read.  Bill Ewing spoke so clearly and beautifully about his transition from acting to being a key executive at Columbia Pictures, and Gary Stockdale talked about his going from actor to Emmy-nominated composer.  It was just a great afternoon.

I had spaghetti and meatballs at this very traditional Eyetalian eatery called Palermo's in Loz Feliz.  It was hearty and very tasty, the meatballs were light, and I didn't finish all the pasta because I was so full.  It was just the kind of meal I needed.

I had a package arrive at the mail place but I didn't get back in time to retrieve it - so I'll pick it up in the morning.

I spent a full day with a six-year-old and posted three photos. I don't think I can do much more.

Richard and I were watching the Michigan/Toledo game and the Big Ten Network kept promoting a special about the glories of Michigan football that was to air right after the game.  I knew my mother would want to see that and she doesn't have the BTN, so Richard went out to get her at halftime.  The game was awful, but the special and the one after that about former coach Carr were great.  She and I went out on a little shopping excursion and came back here for a chicken salad supper with Richard.  We've just returned from taking her home.
