I've had two or three of the loveliest days!! (Might it be because i'm finally mostly off the hook with caring for my cousin, Tina???)
Anyhow, I have this great job, managing a theater company here in LA - a small, dedicated, talented group of playwrights, designers, directors, actors. They've just finished a truly auspicious first year, successfully in the black, with very good reviews for all three plays. I'm helping the Artistic Director cross all t's and dot all i's. Oy. The financials are the most tedious of all theatrical tasks - but a labor of love, when surrounded by committed artists!!! Theater is my life!!!!!
Speaking o' which - I cranked up an Irish accent for the first time since I played Annie Sullivan back at Hamilton High, more than forty years ago - for an audition Saturday for a new Irish play - the playwright and director hired me on the spot!!! The playwright - a Dubliner - thought I was from the 'Naahhrth' - and asked me if I might be ebble ta bring jist a hint o' Doobln inta me spaych. Praise from Caesar...
anyway, one rehairsl, an' one rehdin... Oim trilled, oi tell ye.
What else - oh, lotsa stuff... as I careen into me 60th bairthdeh...
