Well, you've read the notes, the notes were arbitrary, and now it is time for you to post until the arbitrary cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: VERIDICAL!
-
Morning all.
We are off to Poughkeepsie, returning tomorrow afternoon. There is no computer in Poughkeepsie so I won't see your loverly posting until Sunday evening.
That's all for now.
-
I am off to that other Borders store, the one that I've never worked in before. I'll be there til two. . .Should make for an interesting morning. Well, at least I didn't sleep through the alarm.
Thanks for the vibes and please keep 'em coming. . .
-
Now I forgot who needed vibes in yesterday's posts.
But I do have an answer for DR LAURA.
Name of the Marx Bros. movie where they were all crammed into a small room....
It has to be 12 ANGRY MEN.
-
You are in a car with several people.....Simon & Garfunkel's "Sounds of Silence" comes on the radio.....the driver announces: "This song was written about Woodstock." And everyone in the car is impressed that he knows that....
I chose not to speak up after some deliberation.....sometimes it just isn't worth it......kind of like the day at Blockbuster when the girl in line in front of me told the clerk that Audrey Hepburn was married to William Holden when he died.....
-
Not many people may be interested.....BUT the score by Les Baxter AND the backing tracks (sans vocals) from a very popular movie are now available on CD:

Now that I have learned my lines and sort of set my performance, I watched the movie version of NEVER TOO LATE again last night.
The changes Long made in the screen play were really clumsy, now that I look at it.....and Connie Stevens and Jim Hutton are great.....but pretty much charmless in their roles....and Maureen O'Sullivan is just too old for the part....maybe onstage it worked, but not on film....Jane Wyatt who plays neighbor Grace would have been better.....but she just wasn't box office, I guess....and O'Sullivan and Paul Ford came from the Broadway production AND 1007 performances.
-
And now I am off to work.
Oh well.
-
As Harry Lambert would have said about She of the Evil Eye:
I won't have any maid sneaking around here invading my privacy!
-
Mega vibes to BK's friend Michelle Nicastro. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-
Lots of vibes to DR Td and family. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-
DR Jane too bad I did not read your cushion comment before I went. That is a good idea.
-
It actually wasn't too bad on my back. There were partial backs on the seats (a back on the top but no back in the middle). If i tilted sideways a bit it was more comfortable (i was on the end).
-
The circus was pretty good. Although they had a 45 minute intermission, because they decided to let the elephant rides ($7/kid) go on until there were no more kids who wanted them.
-
There were some good acts. There was this daredevil running inside a huge steel hamster wheel. The wheel went up to the roof and then spun around. He would run either in it or on top. There was a big gasp when he was skipping on top of it (in the air) and almost fell (with no net).
-
Good morning, all! I have a lot of Victor Herbert wrting today and tomorrow so I'm sticking close to the apartment Around 5 pm today, I'm meeting Bruce Pomahac, and at 7 we're seeing a short play with songs by Larry Grossman that Alice Playten is in. After the show, we're going to dinner, I'm looking forward to it.
Last night I finished the biography I was reading and I have to settle on a new book today. It may be FOOL, based on KING LEAR, by Christopher Moore (no relation). I've also got the book about the smothers Brothers, so maybe I'll begin both of them.
-
It ended at 10pm (because of the intermission), which is sort of late for kids.
We had 10 free tickets. So my niece's best friend was there with her mom and brother. And my sister's friend was there with her husband and two kids. And there was me, my sis and my niece.
It's hard to believe that 2 years ago we had to leave in the middle because my niece hated it and was too scared.
-
Has anyone heard of something called BackMagic? I got it for my back. I hope it helps!

TOD:
Although we could use a bit more storage space, we really are in our dream house now.
I wish it was back in Los Angeles, but then everything would be 37-40% more expensive.
On the other hand, in L.A., I could go to Canter's regularly and get a good corned beef on rye sandwich.
-
I'm awake, the dogs are not. I have things to do before auditions, one thing might include finding a pinata for the birthday party tonight. That will take a miracle. Of course, today is windy and very fall like. I could use more summer.
TOD - if money wasn't an object, probably somewhere in the LA area.
-
Saturday morning greetings! Rob and ML went to Cincinnati early this morning for coffee with a friend and Richard just left for a memorial service for the grandmother of one of Rob's high school friends. The kids will meet him there and later today we'll all rendezvous to go to dinner at Montgomery Inn. No more ribs, Saratoga chips, and ranch dressing for me, but I'm sure the barbecue chicken, baked potato or vegetable, and nonfat salad dressing will be just as good. Or I could have grilled salmon.

DR Ginny, is the Montgomery Inn close to the Tri-County shopping center? I have the residual memory that the Macbeths took me there a very long time ago while she was still growing fangs.

DR Vixmom - I just managed yesterday to hold on with only one hand so I could adjust my iPod. It'll be a while before I'm ready for that kind of choreography!
-
I'm so glad The Vixter is doing the early college thing. Rob did, too, and we wish we'd encouraged him to take even more classes at AtSU - Across the Street University, the affectionate nickname Middletown High students gave to the Miami U campus here in town.
-
welltime to start my day
-
DR Elmore - the Montgomery Inn isn't really close to Tri-County. I'm wondering if you went to the Iron Horse Inn or the Grand Finale with the Macbeths.
-
Howdy, Y'all!

TOD: I love to build a dream-house or dream-flat in London in thea heart of the West End and Theatre District on the Thames with views of Big Ben, Houses of Parliament on one side and St. Paul's on the other. I would then have everything required to sustain a luxurious and engaging life at the most only twenty minutes from my door.
-
(http://www.philipp-winterberg.de/p/Wallpaper_Guatemala_Lago_Atitlan_p78.de.jpg)
TOD: Lago Atitlan in Guatemala was the most peaceful site I may have ever visited. The light, the color, the serenity were all magical. The lake is at the base of former volcanos and it's icy cold, the perfect antidote for a long hot day. Coffee grows on the mountain sides, so it smells as if you're living in a pot of freshly brewed coffee (which I don't drink but the love smell of). I wanna go back.

Healing vibes for all in need. It seems that, unfortunately, the list keeps growing.

Ah, yes, Anton Walbrook and Sally Gray! Oh how I wish they would have a film festival for these two stars. Then, perhaps, I would have the slightest idea who the frell they are.

Silly! Everyone knows it was Katherine Hepburn.

Isn't it strange that there were two actresses with the last name Hepburn. I have never, in all my sixty years, ever met anyone with the last name of Hepburn.

Thanks, vixmom! The virus seems to be almost gone ( I slept a lot yesterday), but the MRSA hurts like Hell.

Anton Walbrook plays Lermantov in The Red Shoes. A wonderful actor, also in Colonel Blimp and many other films.
-
I'm awake, the dogs are not. I have things to do before auditions, one thing might include finding a pinata for the birthday party tonight. That will take a miracle. Of course, today is windy and very fall like. I could use more summer.
TOD - if money wasn't an object, probably somewhere in the LA area.
You don't have any party supply stores? They always have pinatas.
-
I'm up (I was awakened by the doorbell ringing and the arrival of she of the Evil Eye) and most surprised to see a very gray day outside.
-
Sorry, it has been a great many years since I saw THE RED SHOES. I have never seen COLONEL BLIMP, but I do like their burgers.
-
Good morning. I love my house and I'm happy where it is. I would use an unlimited budget to refinish all the floors, build a three season room on the back where the current deck is and possibly add on over the garage. A previous owner had plans drawn up to do that, but never did.
-
And the additions would not be visible from the front so it would still have the same look
-
TOD - I'll take Manhattan. A 2 or 3 bedroom apartment with a bath and a half, room to entertain, and a balcony with a view.
-

Good Morning! Good Afternoon!
I'm up, I'm up... And I guess I really needed that sleep!
-
As for the Topic of the Day...
A big kitchen, a nice dining room, a library, a music room (with enough shelves to hold all of my sheet music) which would be next to the piano room (with a Steinway D, of course!), nice bedroom, a full bath, etc.
As for the location of said house... In the middle of Central Park. ;)

Time to wash the brunch dishes...

Between fiddling with my audiobook iPod and trying to learn to use the timer on my new sport watch, I'm not really sure how long I walked today - maybe about 20 minutes?
-
DR Jose - thanks for the technical info about iTunes. I think my approach was a less elegant version of what you described and it seems to have worked.
-
TOD - I'll take Manhattan. A 2 or 3 bedroom apartment with a bath and a half, room to entertain, and a balcony with a view.

Back from various and sundried. The home environment is clean and I'm here till I leave for dinner.

For all those who've asked for South Pacific DVDs, Larry, my sister's boyfriend will come over to my place later this afternoon with his laptop and show me how to make a widescreen DVD! It'll still be standard-def, but it'll be better than what I can do on my own (a "Fame" and Les Miz reference ;)).
-
Between fiddling with my audiobook iPod and trying to learn to use the timer on my new sport watch, I'm not really sure how long I walked today - maybe about 20 minutes?
Great job! I'm just about to take a shower and then walk to work...it's only about 15 minutes, but then I have to walk back. :)
-
Have a good day, all!

Isn't it strange that there were two actresses with the last name Hepburn. I have never, in all my sixty years, ever met anyone with the last name of Hepburn.
Picked up a book today on the Pony Express called "Orphans Preferred" and a William Hepburn Russell is mentioned. And I, too, have never met a Hepburn.
-
Bruce, the cd came today - thank you so much. You have no idea how much I missed it!

Yeah, but I was aiming for 26 minutes today. Ah, well, I'll try again tomorrow!
-
Time to head down to Bruce Pomahac's. Back much later.
-
And we're off to meet Rob and Mary Linda at Montgomery Inn - bye for now!
-
I just finished watching THAT EVENING SUN w/Hal Holbrook.
He should have won an Oscar for this one.
-
divarobbie - glad it got there safe and sound.
-
I've watched a couple of Dragnet episodes and now I am listening to CDs - I am hugely behind in my CD listening.
-
Now, get me off this damn page.
-
It was strange to work in a new environment today.
Everything was backwards.
The things on my right at my store were on my left at this store and vice versa.
I kept reaching the wrong way for things.
Opening the wrong fridge doors for milk and such.
By the time I was used to the reversed set-up, it was time to go home.
-
Has anyone heard of something called BackMagic? I got it for my back. I hope it helps!
No. Be careful at first so you don't do more damage.

I have done very little of anything today. I did laundry and I went to the store. Yes, it was a busy day.
-
While I was at the drug store I saw one of the most handsome guys I have ever seen. MBarnum would have liked him too, since he looked to be Indian or Pakistani. I was going to tell him how handsome he was, but he seemed to already know it.

That 35 million dollar house, that someone posted last week, would certainly be in the running. Still, have they ever heard of drapes or curtains, especially in the bathroom?

Of course, if I wanted to stay in the Tacoma area, this house would be okay.

Warmer than here.

Does anyone know where DR Derbrucer has been?
-
I've stopped asking where people are :) Except for Jane.
-
I'm starving - but won't get food into my gaping maw until about six-thirty. I think the one thing that we know is that my dining partners are rarely on time - I'll get there as scheduled at six-fifteen and my guess is I'll be sitting waiting until six-thirty. We shall see.
-
It's 95 outside now, which feels surprisingly pleasant with a nice breeze floating by. Amazing the difference between that and 105.
Now, it's off to an evening of dancing.
-
We had an overcast morning - very cool and lovely - the sun came out around one and it got hot but nothing like the last two weeks.
-
Good evening!!! I was going to an opening of an art show tonight, but I slept through it. Oh well. I think I've slept about 23 hours since the trial ended on Thursday. I'm still tired, but beginnning to feel somewhat human again. I'm staying home tonight
-
I did go to the farmer's market and the grocery store today. that about does it.
-
The girls are happy that I'm home. They are each sitting in their own open window now, quite content that they don't have to share
-
Are we really still on page 4?

BK - Kelly Ground auditioned for me today. I noticed she had the "Simply Sondheim" concert on her resume and the website for Kritzerland for the recording. She was ok, but not my favorite.
-
It's a nice evening here.
-
Glad I didn't try to go to the lake this weekend. as tired as I am it wouldn't have been a good situation
-
I'm watching Forrest Gump. Haven't seen it in a very long time
-
Speaking of auditions, we have some good choices, but I'd like a few more for Joe Gillis and Max. But we have a good number for both the male and female ensemble, which is exciting. I was worried about that. Of course, we have some good contenders for Norma, which is awesome. We have one AEA contract that we may or may not use. We'll see....
-
Ok, let's push on to page 5
-
We're getting there
-
My name is Forrest Gump and people call me Forrest Gump

Only a few more

I can see it from here

Oh I can't wait!!!

I can't remember the last time I've gotten this little done in one day. I really needed it
-
I congratulate Cilla on her hard work.
-
Let me see if I can stir things up a little.................
My friend who works at Western State Hospital has proof that Francis Farmer had a lobotomy.
-
What is the all-time low? I know we haven't passed it yet.
-
I congratulate Cilla on her hard work.
Thanks TCB.
-
Not sure, but it's early enough we should be able to get that far
-
I really hate the thought of going back to work on Monday. This feeling of dread gets earlier and earlier.

I need to take another pain pill and go to bed, but this total is terrble.

I haven't seen the "old" Avatar yet

Wow, Jane snuck on here when I wasn't looking.

I need to take another pain pill and go to bed, but this total is terrble.

Thanks, Cilla, but I doubt I will feel much better until I have my armpit lanced on Monday.
-
Okay, I couldn't get JMK's attention, and I think we are now safely past our lowest ebb, so.....................
G'night!
-
LOL, yes I do that sometimes.

Okay, before I go, here is "the thought of the day!"
Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing.

Oh, I thought you would have done that today. Oops, today is Saturday. It is bad enough you get these, it could at least happen when the doctor is available.
-
Sleep well TCB
-
I think we can make it to page 6
-
It's just not that far away

Forrest Gump was just shot in the buttock

The best thing about being shot in the buttock is the ice cream

Ok page 6 is in my sights

We're going to get there

I can smell it from here

We have to be above the all time low now

I have to leave. I have one of my stomach aches, not too dreadful this time. At least it isn't ruining any fun plans & I should be fine after I relax with a heating pad.

What the hell happened to page 3 to drag it into something beyond Cinemascope?
-
Feel better Jane
-
Hi DotM, why do you keep coming back here?
-
I have returned from seeing a new comedy, with a musical comedy sequence written by Larry Grossman and Ryan Cunningham, titled IT MUST BE HIM, written by Kenny Solms, one of the writers for "The Carol Burnett Show." The comedy is a biographcal gay comedy, based - I assume - on Mr Solms' life and romantic entanglements. Peter Scolari has the lead, and he's good. He carries the whole play; I don't think he ever leaves the stage. Alice Playten and Bob Ari, looking like Lou Jacobi, play his dead parents who haunt his nightmares, and they and the ensemble cast are quite wonderful. The play is slight, about an hour and fifteen minutes long, but full of heart and good humor, but I wish it had a little more depth. The biggest problem for me is that it loses its momentum in the delays to get into and out of the scenery for the musical comedy sequence. The loss in momentum is not a good thing for a fast comedy.
-
Hi DotM, why do you keep coming back here?
I have two thoughts:
1. All dressed up and nowhere to go
2. Looking for trouble
-
Is anyone here thinking of going back to the theater to see the new AVATAR?
Maybe, since I didn't see it the first time!
-
TCB, I hope you feel better soon!
-
MRSA being a pain always reminds me of what a pain the Mercer film was. Tomorrow we'll see if it wins an Emmy. All the Turner entries are things I worked on: THE CLOSER, MEN OF A CERTAIN AGE and Mercer. So I'm rooting for the TNT shows and not expecting much for Mercer. I was shocked that it even got nominated!
-
This week has been a grueling but productive one; the trees maintenance and subsequent destruction of part of my garden and trying to do damage control...piano tuner...and the painter has been here this week to work on 3 projects with us. I was priming wood in the near-dark during a storm tonight. Good times!
-
TOD: That historic house that Shuler Hensley had looked really cool: can't find the article about it. I also wouldn't mind Michael Burns' house that's for sale. Of course, I'd need lots of cash to maintain these places. I also love the coast of Wales, where they shot THE PRISONER.
-
I haven't seen the "old" Avatar yet
Ditto. And I don't feel as if I missed anything.
-
Ah...here's the article about Shuler Hensley's house:

Dancing was fun, but on the way there I began to feel as if something I had eaten for dinner was going to bother me all evening. And it did. Still, I managed a few fun dances and enjoyed seeing some old friends I hadn't seen for at least two years.
One asked if I were still working at the newspaper. After I said I had been laid off 18 months ago, I realized that they are yet another couple who don't read the paper and how irrelevant it is to the loves of most people in the region. Sad statement to make.
-
Actually there are lots of places I could live and be happy, but ever since I moved into this house I really haven't thought about living anywhere else.
-
BK, yesterday you posted something about a petty, pathetic mother selling her son's autographed copy of one of the Kriterzland novels for a few bucks and how it should have gone to his partner. Well, if you know how to get in touch with the partner, I'd be glad to pay the few bucks and forward it on to the man.
I'd also like to include a note to the mother about what charity, kindness and forgiveness are supposed to mean. And how many light years she falls short of the mark.
That post has been nagging at me all day.
-
I talked to my sister tonight. It was a pleasant conversation, but I'm glad I'm here and not there
-
Actually there are lots of places I could live and be happy, but ever since I moved into this house I really haven't thought about living anywhere else.
That's the best comment posted so far on the TOD. My house is a bit too filthy at the moment for me to have made such a statement. But on the rare occasion that it's clean, I do agree with you.
-
With that, I bid you all good night.
-
Thank you for answering my question from yesterday. I was in meetings for two days and didn't have internet access again until tonight.
Tonight we were at the end of the runway in place to take off, and a teenage boy across the aisle and up a few seats became ill. As soon as they announced we were going back to the gate for a medical emergency, a doctor stepped up to help the flight attendants until the paramedics got on board. Then just before we landed, we had to circle over Phoenix waiting for the thunderstorms to pass before we could come in to land.
That's all the exciting things I have to post about.
-
That, and, of course, that "A Night At The Opera" came up in one of my meetings.
-

Well, Larry just left and act one has been recorded. Act two is recording right now.

Yeah, but I was aiming for 26 minutes today. Ah, well, I'll try again tomorrow!
As it turns out, I didn't walk to work at all...so your 15 minutes got me beat.

Actually there are lots of places I could live and be happy, but ever since I moved into this house I really haven't thought about living anywhere else.
That's how I feel about my place, also. It's not fancy by ANY stretch of the imagination, but it's mine...and the bank's. ;)

Richard Valley's mother is more than 80 years old. She would not begrudge Tom Amorosi any memorabilia that belonged to Richard. If she is selling his collection, it is with Amorosi's blessing. Amorosi was never really interested in the mystery/horror/sf genres.

BK - Kelly Ground auditioned for me today. I noticed she had the "Simply Sondheim" concert on her resume and the website for Kritzerland for the recording. She was ok, but not my favorite.
Don't remember her too much - and, of course, I didn't really have anything to do with that show other than my pal Guy Haines making an appearance and putting out the CD.

Some of these books are signed to Richard AND Tom - and if you knew whereof you spoke you'd know just how Tom was treated after Richard passed. You'd best go back to lurking, my friend.

I'm takin' a vote, folks. You know what I'm talkin' about.

Back from a luscious dinner at the Eclectic Cafe with Barry Pearl and Don Petrie and his lovely wife. Then we saw the Sam Bobrick play - Barry's ever-lovin' Cindy did a very nice job - not Sam's strongest play, but a lot of fun nonetheless.

I vote yes.

I wish I could go to bed instead of watching Katrina restrospectives. The weather channel is running an episode of "It Could Happen Tomorrow" which was made months before Katrina predicting the disaster of a cat 5 hurricane on New Orleans. The show didn't run---they changed the location to NY and reduced the predicted storm to cat 3. The next year they ran the original "lost episode" which incorporated the actual footage from Katrina.

I'm thinkin' the vote will be fairly unanimous.
