The forecast is for temps in the high 80s or low 90's   so naturally I must now wear pants, long sleeves and a sweater at work

WHY must they run the AC so dang high?

Last night the Vixter and I went to the local Miller Ale House for dinner- when the waitress came by to ask what we wanted  we asked for a couple of jackets

why would you make the restaurant so dang cold when you are serving hot food? The food cools down way took quickly -'

Good morning, all! Yesterday was another frustrating day, at times.

I'm now caught in the middle of this vocal book megillah for the Irish and British singers. I sent several corrections to my friend Curtis yesterday and he made them all, including one I screwed up and asked him to redo. He said he would do it last night, and I am still waiting for it. I need it it ASAP so I can then travel to Toyland, print the correction and schlep the vocal book to the McGllinnventory for printing and shipping.

Then, I got home, had to write some revisions for the EILEEN notes before I had a 2.5-hour phone conversation with the Man from Philadelphia. I've got two pieces to revise and one to trim.

When I left Toyland yesterday, I got to the subway platform and there was an express train sitting on the local track. As I walked down the platform, the announcer said it was delayed, but I thought, hey, it's air conditioned and the platform isn't, so I got on it. I asked a passenger how long the train had been delayed there, and he saud about 5 minutes but it had taken the train over an hour to get from Wall street to 28th Street because the subway was having a series of brownouts as the power came and went. About five minutes later, the train slowly moved and I was home  after about a 30-minute ride.

This could be a bad day if the power keeps going out. I think I will stick to buses today.

The heat is supposed to arrive today.

We shall see.

Browsing through the TV channels I noticed that the weather forecast on Fox News (yes we get that as well) was 95 for New York. Wow!!

It's 72 now which doesn't sound bad but the humidity is 78% and as the day wears on the temperature will rise into the 90s

Thanks to the very warm weather, most people at the coffee shop were sitting outside, so there was plenty of room inside. As I'd only had a Weetabix for breakfast, I had some toast with my usual cappuccino. This afternoon I have some proof reading to do and then I'll take some rubbish to the local recycling plant.

Have you had a chance to give a listen to the "Follies" masters to see if anything can be done with them, BK? (Not that you haven't been busy otherwise ...)

Good to see a decent version of INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS is availabale at last. But as JMK's review says, this is a film which deserves extras.

I will be home all day with the HVAC guys because Richard has 2 historical society commitments.  Tomorrow, he'll stay home while I take my Mother to the grocery.

Everytime DR Elmore mentions The Man from Philadelphia I think he's talking about me.  But then I remember that I don't live or work in Philly anymore...

Good morning, all.

Vibes to DR John G.'s friend Carol and to all DRs who needs 'em.

Totally different feel to the air when I woke up, and the light -- forcing its way in through closed blinds, from what promises to be a cruel, cruel sun.  AC vibes to all!

Ginny, do I remember correctly you're on coumarin (or however it's spelled?).  There was a big article in the paper this morning warning people on it not to drink Cranberry juice, as it can be fatal!

Well, I'm a Republican again (for a brief moment).  DW Wife Betsy just got a letter from Oregon's Public Employee Retirement System informing her she's one of 29,000 people the PERS overpaid in 1999 and they want their money back.  Idiots.

We are predicted to hit 94 degrees today.....which we did yesterday.  And it's our 16th day in a row with no rain.

I noticed the beans and corn on the way to rehearsal last night.....and ALL the crops are looking pretty sad right now.......

Yes, DR JMK, I'm on Coumadin forever because I've had DVT (blood clots) twice.  Cranberry juice is a NO, NO - one thing I read said to limit your intake to the equivalent of 2 cups per day.  That's a LOT of cranberry juice...

I will try to find your article online.
