Who writes this stuff - I've been wondering all along?

I think it's the same guy who used to write for Myrt and Marge.  8)

This is sick... let's watch them go backstage and cry

So they tell you who got the bottom two votes and the judges can save them...so apparently you can get the lowest votes and still stay

I just found out a guy from the lakes area where I used to live will be on Martha Stewart on the 13th. He's a barber and will be doing his shaving techniques.  His name is Michael Felton. He lived in New York for awhile and I think he did some off or  off off-broadway shows....he was an actor....and no, I don't think he was ever in Sweeney Todd.

Oh, so they do the sing off, then the ones who aren't eliminated sing for the audience to vote next week.  That just seems a little mean or something

I will say one thing for ALW, at least he's pointing out when people have listened to the notes he gave them during rehearsal and made the changes he suggested.  Good bad or indifferent, it's nice to know who can make the requested changes

And the losers will be paraded in front of the live audience in handcuffs and escorted by armed guards off the premises taking only what they can carry in a sack tied around their necks.  Stay tuned!!  ;D

More AMP....  Funnier than I remembered.  And it's Medfield College...and Tommy Kirk is in it....of course Kirk became Merlin Jones the Scrambled Egghead at Medfield three years later.

The guy who was eliminated actually sounded sort of good - he must have been very nervous last week.

"Dreams ripped at the seams" is a lyric from GREASE, but it seems cruel in this context.

Some of these songs seem to be much more difficult than others. I am not a music person, though.

FWIW, I've taken "the plunge into plasma" and ordered a 37" Panasonic.

Hopefully it won't be too long before it's delivered and I can begin the nightmare of installation/integration with my current components.

Watched "Rumor Has It" on dvd this afternoon.

Jennifer Anniston, Shirley MacLaine, Mark Ruffalo and Kevin Cosnter.

Anniston, a Pasadena girl returning home from NYC with her fiancee to attend her sister's wedding, learns that it's HER grandmother and mother who were the inspirations for Mrs. Robinson and Elaine in "The Graduate."  Costner is Beau Burroughs, the man Benjamin Braddock was based on.  Because Anniston feels she's so different from the rest of her family -- and because she learns (1) that her mother had an affair with Burroughs before her wedding to another man and that (2) her own birth was a week or so premature from being nine months after the wedding, she believes that Burroughs MIGHT be her real father.

MacLaine truly shines.  Film is flummery entertainment, instantly forgettable when it's done.  But...it was a pleasant mind-number after which I took a nap.

And I bet you folks faught fair!
I'm reminded of the discussion the other day about "evil".
At the risk of acting the perfect cynic - had you preservation folks concentrated your efforts on some maybe-not-so-clean tricks to bring down the crook, perhaps you might have won. (As you have posed it, this was not a battle about right and wrong, it was about strong (and crooked) and weak (and honest).

Faught?

The big preservation organization did not fight this fight, because they were verging on getting a preservtion ordinance passed and did not want to be seen as anti-development. The small group, which was founded to actually buy and preserve buildings instead of just being a social group that talks preservation but has no clue about what is going on, was the group trying to buy it. (All the small group members also belong to the larger group.)

(The large group, which numbers in the hundreds, donated $1,000 to preserve the theatre. We donated $7,500 and there's only a few dozen of us, which gives you an idea of how much they really care.)

This boiled down to a battle between the neighbors who abutted it and the city, who thinks nothing of sacrificing our quality of life to get more tax dollars.

I can list over a dozen acts in which the developer went above the law but if your lawyer is the former governor, you can get away with a lot!

In the breast of every Socialist beats the heart of a Romanov :D

I wear one piece of jewelry, and one only, my wedding ring. No watch, no earrings. A few times a year I'll break down and wear a necklace of some sort.
