My mom had an inhaler, also, and she didn't have asthma. I think they can be useful for other breathing ailments, too.

Now you understand why I stay home and the rest of the family goes to the family reunion. I went so many times and always struggled to breathe. I just can't be in the midwest in the summertime. I am allergic to something there.

I have asthma, Cillaliz. I know how scary it is. I hope you get better really fast.

They aren't absolutely sure that's what the problem is, but i can say I feel much better after using the inhaler, so maybe...

I found inhaler's make me very shaky and had to stop using them.  I'm lucky I could stop and hope you won't need it for long.

I also find sleeping with my chest elevated helps with breathing, coughing, etc.

I wondered why you didn't go.  I thought you had to work.  Maybe I should move to Arizona.

Honestly, I feel so much better in the Arizona summer heat than I feel going to the midwest.

The pills and the inhalers didn't even work in Kansas in the summer.

DR Cillaliz - I've had breathing/coughing problems brought on both by pneumonia and allergy-induced asthma.  The inhalers sometimes work and once I had to have a shot of something called Kenalog.  Hope you get some relief (and some sleep!)

I was tested for allergies but it was all negative.  I've always had trouble in the summer with the humidity.  I think it's why I really don't like summer.

Thanks Ginny.  I'm using the minimal amount of the inhaler. It's working so far

Kansas?  Are the summers dry there?  One summer we went from Michigan to Arizona & I was much happier weather wise.

All the midwest gives me problems in the summer. Except Texas.

Kansas is hot and humid...just like Iowa.

On humid days here, which are nothing compared to the mid-west, etc, I can feel a difference in my breathing.

My problems started on a day where the dew point was about 80 degrees, which is extremely high.  Our heat index was over 100 and it literally felt like you could move the air with your hands it was so full of moisture

My father had a fright watching a tornado in the distance while driving in Kansas.  Fortunately it did not head in his direction.

On days like that I would try and head to Los Angeles.

I watched a tornado over the lake right in front of us when I was 7 years old.

I've been in Oregon in the summer, and it didn't bother me. It doesn't seem to be the humidity -- it must be something growing there in the summer.

On days like that I like to stay in the air conditioning!! Unfortunately that was the day they started working on my windows.  Something else I can blame them for :P

Actually I feel better when it's raining, so I think it's something in the air, they just haven't tested me for the right thing

DR vixmom:  Re your comment last night -- "My pleasure".  What are good friends for?

Good friends
Who couldn't care less
If you're a failure
Or a success
They're there
Whatever you do
They like you for you
Not your money
Or your gawjusness!

Friendship is a ring
A circular thing
Think about that,
When you've got good friends
You've got it all!

 :-* :-*

I was having another day today - bt I thought of you singing to me and it made me laugh

so  thank you forthant!

Sheriff shuts down biker party in Cartersville
Posted: Wednesday, July 28, 2010 5:09 pm |

CARTERSVILLE, Iowa (AP) — Authorities say they shut down a wild party at a private pond in Cartersville on the RAGBRAI bike tour route after swimmers started taking off their clothes.

Cerro Gordo County Sheriff Kevin Pals says "one out of every 10" of the thousands of people estimated to be at the pond Wednesday were either not wearing shorts or were topless.

Pals says many partyers were "alcohol-impaired," but there were no arrests.

Deputies and the State Patrol RAGBRAI alcohol team shut the party down about 2:30 p.m.

The RAGBRAI alcohol team is a special group of officers who follow the ride across Iowa, making sure that riders leave each community early enough so they're not on the route in the dark.

Vixmom - about the audio books?  I've thought about it but I wouldn't really know how to sell them.  Still, I might do the new book - that would be fun to read - I'd have to record it in chunks, though, as my voice would get tired.

Since I'd only had a BLTA for lunch, I went and had some chicken tenders for dinner - just right.  Also, taking a jogging break for the first time in, I think, fifteen or sixteen days.  I'll resume tomorrow.
