I went to a farmer's market earlier. Their business was BOOMING.

They sell firearms at the market?

It's never too late for Papa's Eggs!  Good idea - I may just do that around two-thirty.

what exactly ARE Papa's Eggs?

Scrambled eggs with a little bacon and a little chicken Italian sausage...scallions and parsely

thanks!

I would think reading that would be cruel and unusual punishement - you should be reading about Tofu and soy-bean paste.

I was absolutely THRILLED to see that after promises, Time Warner has indeed come through and now USA-HD is a part of our HD line-up. For that reason, I deleted last night's BURN NOTICE in SD and set the DVR to record the next showing in HD (which is tomorrow at some point). I also have tonight's MONK and PSYCH set to record in HD. Yay!!!!

No, they definitely left threads dangling in THE STARTER WIFE. Molly has broken up with her boy friend, but her husband seemed to have gotten interested in her again (and she didn't seem all that turned off to the notion of trying it again). The Judy Davis character was under suspicion of murder and took off from the police. The black baskbetball star and his wife were moving to a new city but were on a little shaky ground with that long-ago son of his now in the picture.

Anyway, at lunch I watched Wednesday night's LIFE ON MARS, a good episode, but I do get tired of these "weak" men who succumb to these wily women when every fiber of their being tells them they need to just shut the door. And how horrible did Cheyenne Jackson make his voice sound to play that acid rock star. Help! My ears!

I did get very emotional when Sam was hollering up at the "space ship" to take him back home.

I now have only two more MURDER SHE WROTE episodes to watch, so I'll easily fit those in this evening. There are no bonuses in the set at all this time out. (All of the previous sets usually had at least one featurette, but not this one.)

There are just too many guest stars to remember, but in the last episode I watched, taking place on a cruise ship, the guests were Jon Cypher, Jane Withers, Lee Meriweather, and Keith Michell playing (as usual) Dennis Stanton.

I also skimmed through today's AS THE WORLD TURNS. Nothing, but Luke was in the previews for next week.

I just received word this morning of a new thread where this insufferable putz™ is attempting to "edumacate" me about the musical version of Goodbye, Mr. Chips.  Pluh---eeze.

Well, has anyone tried to edumcate you about the use of em dashes, particularly when you are commenting upon them?

"The Roar of the Greasepaint--The Smell of the Crowd" doesn't hack it

The Roar of the Greasepaint—The Smell of the Crowd works

If you are using Word, you need to set your auto-correct options to convert double hyphens to em dashes; alternatively, you can create "—" by typing ALT 0151.

Sincerely,

The Insufferable Pendent, der Brucer

Note: sometimes Word documents that have embedded "auto-correct" em dashes do not correcty import into other programs - particularly those used on the WWW.

Don't you mean "insufferable pedant" rather than "pendent"?  I don't think I'd ever — not even in my WILDEST delusional states — envision you as an adornment that hangs from a piece of jewelry.

Not only is it Friday the 13th, but it's also:

So, will you be at Jelly this afternoon Jose?

I don't think I'll be heading to Jelly this afternoon.

Dang - we were counting on you for the full report! (complete with Monkey pictures of course!)

Oh, gadzooks.  Is he still flogging that monkey?

I thought he had switched to interminable snapshots of cupcakes.

I am not fond of scrambled eggs or italian sausage chicken or otherwise so no pangs here.  In fact I really have not had any food cravings - it's just orange juice I desperately desire and I know it would burn like sufulric acid going down

Been practicing the piano.  Booked a couple more actors for the reading and have a message into another gal about doing Cindy's part.

I'm sure you mentioned this before but do you have a firm date for the reading yet?

Been practicing the piano.

In tonight's episode of All In the Family, the part of the Piano was played by Bruce Kimmel.

I've got some writing to do and then I'll head down to finish MURDER SHE WROTE and then try to catch up with some other TV that I've recorded.

We are back from taking Richard's wedding ring into the jeweler to be resized.  They checked the prongs on my engagement ring and cleaned it, so now it's all sparkly.

From there we went to Home Depot to look at countertops for the kitchen.  I don't like any of the colors in the granite-type and they're not really interested in talking to you about lowly Formica.

From there we went to Target where we only found 2 of the 3 items I needed and purchased those from a grumpy cashier.

Now, we're home, balancing our checkbooks.

In the totally weird synchronicity department, I've just started THE YELLOW ROLLS ROYCE and noticed that the last name of woman who regularly emails me from a Christian music publishing company sports the last name of Ortolani.  I just emailed her to see if perhaps she's related to Riz.

I have been thinking about redoing our kitchen - (I have been watching too many home improvement shows while home)

Our formica is sort of a stained yellowish affair that was used as a cutting block by the former owners.  One whole wall as well as the back splash is in an awful brownish / yellowish tile and teh floor is brown ceramic title but it has some cracks and it always looks dirty - ther is no shine to it at all.  The ceiling was done in some thick spackle fashion with lheavy hand on the texture.

I do like my oak cabinets - those I would like to keep and my stainless steel sink is ok.

We really have never had the money to get it done but I wonder if we did the work ourselves how much it would cost and how hard it would be.

vixmom - the really informal reading is next Wednesday night.  Then we're planning on doing a proper staged reading sometime in March.  Just got my "Cindy Williams" - my pal, Heather Lee.  She was on B'way in the Bernadette Gypsy.  She's too old for the part, but the right type - Matt's too old, too, but also the right type, so for the reading they'll be fine.
