I saw a friend of mine walking down the street last night, barefooted and pushing a perambulator.
I walked up to him amazed, 'cause I didn't know he had kids, much less a baby.
When I looked inside, I saw a rather large grey cat.
"Pardon me, Roy," I said. "Is that the cat that chewed your new shoes?"
Okay - for some reason the picture wouldn't post. I'll try one more time, then will have to wait until later. If anyone has suggestions - it's sized correctly, I did what you're supposed to do - but no success. Oh well.
There have been plenty of photographs posted in the last few days, so I don't think it's the usual overload that we have once every few months, where Mr. Bakalor has to do a purge.
Now, might I just ask WEHT Rodzinski, TPunk, Ann, Jed, and a few others who have been unseemly and VERY errant and truant.
Tuesday morning greetings! My software training late yesterday afternoon was very stress-inducing. I needed all those coping strategies we discussed yesterday.
TOD - Years ago, my dad found a recipe in the newspaper for a slow-cooking casserole that uses stew beef, Lipton Onion soup mix, cream of mushroom soup, sherry, and fresh mushrooms. You serve it over noodles. Kind of like beef stroganoff, but not as much work.

Happily TPunk did post a few times last night, but she made no excuses for her E&T behavior...and said nothing about Rodzinski.
I find this very unsettling....
All this talk of beef has me a hunkerin' for a meatloaf sandwich with lots of yellow mustard and a pickle on the side.
I don't seem to have any problem posting pictures. Nor do I have a problem with The Saturday Evening Post.
Maybe it is the uploading of photos that isn't working...I didn't upload one, I just copied and pasted the URL from an Ebay auction of lovely Allison's photo (up for bid for only $7.50 I might add!).

Here is JRands Blue Moon
Did anyone watch the new TEN COMMANDMENTS last night? Did Moses already part the Red Sea? What's happening tonight? What's the buzz...tell me what's happening.
Now I shall have to look in the video cabinet and break out the old VHS "collectors set" I have of the Ten Commandments!!
Not if it was Nilla. :o
Okay, here is my test picture post:
I was also going to ask what Tammy and friend were gonna make for the sedar.
I know that my mom will make matzah ball soup. And my aunt will make brisket. My mom and I made meatballs. I will be making chicken, mashed potatoes, mashed turnip and some other veggie.
Yummy!
I am reaching for the DVD I have as well.....I passed my VHS on to the little people when I got citified! 8)
Fridays USED TO BE my days for getting up to some hanky panky.
Nowadays, I'm lucky if I can do the first few steps of the hokey-pokey.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - As if custom-made hats, premium box seats and limo rides weren't enough, the Kentucky Derby will now feature the $1,000 mint julep.
Sip this drink slowly.
50 race-goers willing to shell out $1,000 can get a mint julep made with one of the state's finest bourbons, served in a gold-plated cup with a silver straw. (Brian Bohannon / Associated Press)
The sweet cocktail will be made with one of the state's finest bourbons and served in a gold-plated cup with a silver straw to the first 50 people willing to put down the cash at the May 6 race.
Mint from Morocco, ice from the Arctic Circle and sugar from the South Pacific will put this mint julep in a class of its own, the distillery selling the drink said.
"We thought we would reflect on and complement the international nature of the Kentucky Derby," said Chris Morris, master distiller for Woodford Reserve. The distillery, owned by Louisville-based Brown-Forman Corp., will sell the drink only on race day to raise money for a charity for retired race horses.
The company already sells about 90,000 mint juleps at the Derby each year but hopes what's being dubbed the "ultimate" mint julep will catch on. Those who buy the $1,000 cocktail will get to watch Morris and others make it.
"People want a memory," said Wayne Rose, Woodford Reserve's brand director. "This is something they can take home and share with friends."
Mint juleps have been synonymous with the Kentucky Derby for decades. They are often served in silver or pewter cups and are meant to be sipped and savored.
The new 24-karat gold cup promotion fits in with the high-class atmosphere, said Gary Regan, a spirit and cocktail expert who's been to the Derby twice.
"I think there will be enough people with enough money at the Kentucky Derby that will go for that sort of thing," said Regan, author of "The Joy of Mixology."
Churchill Downs officials said the expensive mint juleps will help raise awareness about the needs of retired thoroughbreds.
"A concern has developed over time that these horses were finding their way to be sold for slaughter," track spokeswoman Julie Koenig said.
Churchill Downs will funnel money from the pricey juleps to the New Jersey-based Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides homes for the former race horses.
"These horses are there making these memories special to us," Kornig said. "It's nice to find a way to give back to them."
OOOH!!! Do you still have th recipe?
DR Vixmom - Yes, I do still have that recipe and I treasure it because it's one of the few things I have in my late father's handwriting. I will email it to you and probably make a batch, which would please my DH and my DS very much.
Or...you could post it here and share with all the Hainsies/Kimlets! :D
OK, I'll do that! Who knows, it might even become as popular as Tuna Glop!
Some folks may like to learn that I did not -- repeat NOT -- order an extra copy of "The Lady Eve" on Criterion. I didn't already have it....something easily ascertained at home.
Databases are great...but can't answer questions when you find yourself away from them and you need (or want) to make a decision at that time.
Of course, I didn't question myself over the issue when I ordered the title. It was only afterward that I pondered whether or not I already had it.
If the issue had been an issue when I was ordering, I'd have simply waited until I got home.

Cat Dentures.
I wonder if the Pogues will be indulging.......

yes something is just out of whack with some browsers or something....not quite sure.... What browsers to DRS DAKOTA CELT and MBARNUM use?
Allison showed up and is quite fetching cluching her necklace and looking at what is supposed to be a giant from outer space, and is probably actually a teamster in a t-shirt with a cigar in his mouth waving a stick. :P
I haven't been able to post photos since last week either
Very lean ground beef, sauteed in a little olive oil with a little onion, celery, black pepper, lots of oregano. Cut up some really ripe plum tomatoes - heck, ANY tomatoes, even those little pearl jobs in a big plastic box at Costco! - but if you can't get REALLY ripe ones, open a big can of crushed and pour it in. Slice up WAY too many mushrooms and toss 'em in. A dash of cayenne. A splash of red wine. Simmer, simmer, simmer. Cook up some whole baby green beans or zucchini for me, and a wad of spaghetti for yourself. Ladle the sauce generously over. Mmmmm.
Bruce! Whatcha makin' for the seder? And am I invited? Family seder not until Friday night... matzo, chicken soup with matzo balls, matzo farfel, matzo kugel, a matzo meal cake for dessert. And the brisket. Mmmmmmm.... starch and fat!!!
Are you pointing that camera at me?

Oucha magoucha...
Okay, here is my test picture post:
Full Moon, April 13, 2006 - that explains a lot.
It's getting weirder and weirder here at the library tonight. We have no public internet access because the PC reservation software is being installed. Whatever do you suppose the punks are doing instead?
I bought a little mini-hard drive today - 100 gigs - to back up my entire laptop hardrive to. Vinnie's coming over tomorrow to set it up for me, so that my computer will automatically back up to this little drive every three days.
I then had a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich for lunch, and then wrote three pages, a good day's work, I think.
It looks like I'll be heading to the editing room around five.
I feel very stupid asking this. What is Matzo?

COWABUNGA! Norman Rockwell never looked so good.
I heard a very funny song on the radio today, from a CD called WHAT I LIKE ABOUT JEW...
Song was "They Tried to Kill Us, We Survived, Let's Eat!" and a strange and hilarious bit of fluff it was. I forget the name of the band. The song is about EVERY Jewish holiday - Hanukah? they tried and failed... let's eat! Passover? They tried. We survived. Let's eat. All the stories, lumped together. Very funny lyrics. And a faux-Yiddishe-Mama-Theo Bikel-yelps-in-Yiddish tune, yeidle-deidle-beedle-deedle-fiddle-diddle-yid.
Nope! Damn!
This is NOT Blue Moon - but she looks a lot like this! I have been using the "browse" feature to post pics - I am going to try the insert image in the menu above and paste the url.... 8)

Hi Cilla :D
How is Nilla doing today?
DakotaCelt the photos of the flooding are beautiful, hate to say so but they are.
You will often find Jewish words spelled differently, as in Matzo or Matzos.
Penny I don’t care for the dry Passover Matzos, however I eat Manischewitz Motzos almost every day of the year.
Gosh how I hate doing nothing for Passover, wish Bryan were here or we could go to him, or to L.A. In L.A. I’m sure of two homes we would be invited to for a Seder.
Cillaliz, very interesting.
Have you read PEACE LIKE A RIVER? I would have enjoyed your input at my book discussion gathering this morning.
Callie is trying to figure him out, I think she's beginning to realize that she can make a power grab because he's not being mean anymore. I'm waiting for a coup
DakotaCelt should like this book-it's set mainly in rural Minnesota and the Badlands of North Dakota during the early 1960's.
I did THE SOUND OF MUSIC long after that Rebecca Luker Broadway revival, and the script we got from R&H was the original libretto with both of Max's songs as per usual. To be honest, I wouldn't have wanted to do the show without them.
Hmmm, I'm ordering it on Amazon. I'll let you know when I get it. I think things may slow down enough at work for me to actually read a book. Plus I'm making trips to Philly and San Francisco in May so I'll need some good reads for the planes
Thanks to MBarnum I have seen your beautiful Blue Moon. Are you sure she is a husky and not a malamute? I LOVE both breeds.
I recently attempted posting a photo without success.
My web person has been "unavailable" to me for two years now. He hasn't really charged me for anything during that time, but I can't get any upgrades to the site, can't post interviews, can't do additions, and it's very frustrating. I would love to get it away and with someone who can handle that stuff, and I might just try and do that in the next couple of months. It's a very complex site, very well designed with the technology from five years ago.
Blue Moon is beautiful.
Cilla, it is my belief that pets can smell the vet's office on one another.
Bakalor and whoever designed this board are long gone, basically, so unless I can get our webhost to see if they can figure it out, we're sunk in terms of photos, I'm afraid.
