Last night Dakota asked:

Maybe I am letting people get to me but why do some insist and destroying a person because they stand for something believe in....

My thought: many people find it easier to attack a person than to attack an argument.

...and you really shouldn't give cats milk.  It often gives them diarrhea.

Well, that advice is a day late and a dollar short (says he after inspecting the litter box!)

And of course you're all probably already aware that most of the surnames in The Simpsons are street names here in little ol' Portland, where Matt Groenig growed up.

It did take me awhile to realize Bryan was living on one of those streets. ;D

Know anyone who wants to purchase a loft?

And! i got a new gig! Apparently, I'm a staff writer for FineArtsLA... just cranked out an article for the site about the Los Angeles Ballet's upcoming Balanchine program, and got two more assignments! And the perks of such a gig include free tix to pretty much any symphony, ballet, chamber music, recital, major art that I care to partake of! The article goes up this week. If this goes on, I may have to get business cards...

I'm thinking my Boss Lady at the acting school must be a reader of this site - during Sunday's class, she was polite and supportive. For fun, try saying the Betty Botter tongue twister with a high British accent, and then switch to Noo Yawk. Hahd to do without lahffing... ayand den leeaffing yuh hedoff!

Okay, so I'll get back to the snoozer I'm working on - Handel's RINALDO, in a concert version, yet... laters, skaters!

I wouldn't worry too much. Mikey often "pulls a muscle" in his rear hip - he hobbles about for a day or two and recovers just fine.

der Brucer

PS Josie says "thank-you" for the litter box :)

I'm pleased she appreciated it :)

The hobbling thing-That's just it, he didn't hobble at all, just yelped & wouldn't lie down anymore.  It was very disturbing to watch him pace & he wanted on the bed.  Keith attempted various ways to get him up there but he yelped every time.

We are giving him aspirin & keeping him quiet to give whatever it is time to heal.

Thanks to DRS Jose, Cillaliz and Jane for their comments last night.

I did actually sleep elevated.  And the hot drinks had helped.

The one thing i had not realized is that it was okay to swallow the flem.  I was sort of thinking it would be better if it came out.

And yes i could call a pharmacy or nurse hotline.

I do get sinus pains fairly often.  I just never had my throat coated like that before.

Again, thanks.

Mikey started with the yelping too - and, yes, I had to get him up on the bed. After a few occurances, he learned when he pulled a muscle NOT to try and use the leg  but to walk around with it held up (like he had a thorn in his paw) for a day or so 'til it healed.

When Kelsy was in his waning months, I put a hassock next to the end of the bed to give a step up. Now, Miakey uses it whenever he feels achy.

The show was enjoyable as it always is.  But like DR MattH, it was fairly easy to predict who was involved. As soon as the husband mentioned the insurance it set off huge red flags.

It was nice seeing Alison's police friend again. But i wonder if the old DA (duvalis) (sp?) will be on again. I miss him so much.

On tv for my tonight: 3 shows at 9pm.

American Idol (which starts at 8pm), Big Brother, and One Tree Hill. (I also have Boston Legal at 10pm).

I will watch BB when it is on. And probably record IDOL. I find it very long to watch for 2 hours (when there will probably be a lot of stuff to ff thru).
