Since I haven't fired up the DVD player in a couple of days, I feel the need to watch something on DVD tonight, so that will likely be STAR WARS III.

I loved Guy Fawkes Day as a kid in England. The bonfires scared me, but they were exciting, too. I didn't quite understand why they were burning a dummy, but it was a lot of fun to watch the sucker burn.

I also remember the Guy Fawkes figure at Mme. Tussaud's in London. I believe they had him down in the dungeon - the torture chamber - whatever they called it. Scary stuff!

I remember this too... I believe at home I have a picture of it

Media Check:

VCR: WAR OF THE PLANETS, THE THING FROM ANOTHER WORLD, and a couple of other sci-fi movies that are being taped off of TCM today.

DVD: Just picked up a box set of 10 episodes of the 1950s TV series LOCK-UP. $4.99 at Ross' Dress for Less...who knew?!

CD: AFRICAN GROOVE a cd of easy listening pop music from various African countries.

DR MattH, I guess with so many characters on LOST they are all major and yet supporting.  I just find many of the others to be much more major than Shannon or Walt.  To me the main character is Matthew Fox. And then I would consider Evangeline Lily, the guy who plays Sawyer, the guy who plays Sayed, and then probably the bald guy that used to be in the wheel chair and the black guy (sorry i forget their names).

It never occured to me that the kid playing Walt might be growing too fast. That would definitely be problematic.  I think that I would miss him though if he was the one killed. Because he seems to have some special powers, and I want to find out more about that.

I wonder why they are killing someone else off? :(

[all]
three coins in the fountain
each one seeking happiness

[francis]
thrown by three hopeful lovers
wich one will the fountain bless?

[all]
three hearts in the fountain
each heart longing for it's home

[francis]
there they lie in the fountain

[jinx sparky smudge]
ooh ooh ohh where?

[francis]
somewhere in the heart of rome

[all]
wich on will the fountain bless
wich one will the fountain bless?
three coins in the fountains
through the ripples how they shine

[franccis]
just one wish will be granted

[jinx sparky smudge]
ooh ooh ooh wich?

[francis]
one heart wiull wear a valentine

[all]
make it mine
make it mine
...make it mine

[all]
whooo
wich one will the fountain bless
wich one will the fountain bless
three coins in the fountain
through the ripples how they shine

[francis]
just ine wish will be granted

[jinx sparky smudge]

There are also Sun and Jin, who are very major to me, as are Hurley and Charley and Michael.  The bald guy is Locke.

Love...on a high and windy hill

In the morning mist, two lovers kissed

And the world stood still...

My first Bollywood movie of the weekend (I am hoping to get through 2!!!) is the 1960 Dev Anand starrer MANZIL. Don't know what it is about, but I have yet to see a Dev Anand movie that I haven't enjoyed.

I just read the VARIETY review of the SWEENEY TODD revival.

A flat-out rave and the critic had also seen the London production and pronounced this one superior.

Hello from Kinko's!  I will miss the lovely ladies at Kinko's who made my internet life so fantastic.  Yesterday I brought them a bag of Garret's Popcorn:  cheddar and caramel flavors.  A very yummilicious treat.  Bernita, Keshia, Rena and LaNora have been patient and helpful.  I love Chicago!!!!

Good but long dress rehearsal  today, and now I have to put on my suit and head for Symphony Hall.  I will be happy to be home tomorrow afternoon.  I need good traveling vibes as well as vibes for flying standby on an earlier flight, please.

DRJoy, your CD is an ass for not calling Montego in to sing; she's faqntastic and I think she'll get great reviews for this concert.

Dylan says the mono test came back negative so he still doesn't know the problem.  If he's not better by Tuesaday, I'm taking the train to Purchase and raising hell in the Health Center.

Back from my music copyist, which took forever - lots of wrong notes in the melody, a few wrong rhythms, and some stuff to fix in the accompaniment, but we did it and those two songs are out of the way, and she has one to go.  Waiting on my pal Gary Stockdale to play me a couple of songs that are candidates for the LACC show.

Also, got a flu shot for the first time ever.  They were doing them at the drugstore I go to with the mini-post office.  There was no line, so I just did it - hopefully now I won't get the flu this season.
