VIBES FOR TD, DAMMIT!!!!

 ;D

From last night:
Quote
Jane, Ron Pulliam beat me to it... but the answer is, Jimmy Smits and Rebecca Jackson Mendoza.  That, apparently, is where Leia got her Latina fire.

Thanks, the actor’s names helped since I didn’t remember.

Hmmmm...Carrie Fisher's "Leia" is Latina?

Then blonde-haired blue-eyed Mark Hamill's Luke Skywalker -- Leia's fraternal twin -- is a Latino, too?

Has anyone tried the Reese's Inside Out candy?  Absolutely faboo.

I've never heard of it. Is the peanut butter on the outside and the chocolate on the inside? If not, what is it?

Well, cleaning chores are calling me away from the computer. I'll be back later with opinions on the evening's viewing.

Close, DR RLP:

"ONCE
on a high and windy hill
In the morning mist
Two lovers kissed
And the world stood still.

Then your fingers touched
My silent heart
And taught it how to sing.
Yes....true love's....a many splendored thing."

My nearly favorite if not my favorite romantic song & movie.  I like the book a lot, too.

"Never awaken a sleeping tiger.  Not in a small boat, anyway."

DR td did you get your copy of SS....I forget what I wrote, for some reason, Mr Valley thought I didn't like the movie, but after I read it again, although I have reservations (particularly the personnel) - I do like the movie.  Oh well.

First day on the new job vibes for DR JRand!

Monday job interview vibes for DR td!

Friday evening greetings - back from Columbus, where I stood around in front of the absolutely gorgeous display that my library's graphic artist created out of my concept and talked up the Foundation Center to several hundred Ohio college and university librarians.  Saw some long time friends, from two professional lifetimes ago, and sat at lunch next to the guy who now (newly) occupies the position I walked away from 20 years ago when DS Rob was born.  That was a little weird.

Best wishes to all those who are unwell, starting new jobs, being interviewed for jobs and welcome back DR Joy. I sometimes read through the posts way too fast and miss things! I blame time zones for most things!

Michael S I must find the name of a fantastic restaurant in Florence.  The walls were from an old monastery garden or something like that.  Not only was the meal wonderful but they had the best Ribollita soup.

Also, got a flu shot for the first time ever.  They were doing them at the drugstore I go to with the mini-post office.  There was no line, so I just did it - hopefully now I won't get the flu this season.

I'm getting mine tomorrow morning.  I've been getting them for years now, ever since I got VERY VERY sick with the flu.  It was hell, and knock on wood, I haven't gotten that sick since I started getting the shots.  I really have to get them, though, between jail visits and the fact that being sick doesn't stop people from having to be in court, I need all the help I can get.

DR MBarnum, I'll give a full Dolly report after the concert tomorrow night.  I'm almost surprised how anxious I am to see her.

Cillaliz I used to get that sick with the flu, every year.  Dare I say this, without the shots, I haven't had the flu in years.  I get other things, just not that.  I hope I didn't just jinx myself.

Well, I don't know if the shots are saving me from being sick or not, but I don't want to find out the hard way.

Had my flu shot on Tuesday - no side effects except a slightly sore arm.  DR Cillaliz - the same people you visit IN jail visit us in the public library!  We even had the health department come in and drag out some guy who was identified as a TB carrier  :P

I really should get tested for TB. It's rampant in the jails and I have many clients who have it.

Cillaliz when were you last tested?

When my nephew was in law school he contracted a fairly serious case of TB.  Thanks to expensive modern medicine he is fine.  A few of his friends and one of his sisters tested positive, prior to symptoms, and the fix was fairly simple.  They never felt sick.
