DR TCB - very sorry to hear you're under the weather.

***GET BETTER SOON VIBES!!!!!***

I am not really under the weather.  We seem to be on an equal footing. I will be fine; but thanks everyone.

Just for Vixmom, because she is amused by the quotes. I had this up several days, hoping you'd see it.

I think I'm gonna do some browsing in the galleries for a bit. Just not feeling like heading outside into the drizzle.

My new glasses/frames cost $800.00.

Insurance shaved off half.

You must have gotten those $600 frames just like Sarah Palin! My optician told me they are very popular.

I concur with DR Jose in regards to THE SEARCHERS; it's such a great film and has a cast that can't be beat!  Lana AND Natalie Wood, Vera Miles, Jeffrey Hunter and John Wayne.  Great storytelling, too.  Wayne's Ethan is probably my favorite of his film characterizations - and I think it's a very brave performance - that Wayne at the top of his game would play such a not-altogether sympathetic man still astounds me.

But my new progressive lenses cost $530 for just the lenses. I paid an extra $100 for a digital lens, and I must say that I can see more more clearly.

Speaking of retirement, I am going this afternoon to be fitted for my new bifocals.  It is only a short step further to social security and retirement!   :)

I felt exactly the same way when I got bifocals for the first time. Never felt so old in my life.

I usually get it every December or January.  I guess I am a late-bloomer this year.  I suppose it comes from my 25 years of smoking.

The frames were actually a pretty small percentage of the total.        :P

Good Afternoon!

I really, really, really liked "The Searchers". They truly don't make 'em like they used ta'.

That'll be the day.

Yep, one of the all-time greats. It looks awesome on Blu-ray.

I had such a carefree leisurely afternoon watching wonderful things. I began by finishing up with last night's AMERICAN IDOL. I did indeed have three singers left. The black guy was forgettable and "pitchy" though had some pretty good tone. Tatiana was miserably mediocre; not my cup of tea at all, but apart from the first girl, probably the best of the ladies last night (which isn't saying much; they were all forgettable). The last fellow, who got big play during the Hollywood round, is a very good singer, and kudos to him for singing over a nasty frog in his throat. I still think Braddy sang better and was definitely my favorite of the evening. Both of them SHOULD go through if there's any justice, but, of course, we know that IDOL isn't always about the singing only.

LEVERAGE had a fabulous episode last night, filled with a great caper and some shocking twists which just MADE the episode one of the best in the entire first season. Can't wait to see the wrap-up next week.

I loved HEROES this week, too, more than DR Ron Pulliam, I think. Loved all of the storylines (even Hiro's for a change), and was especially thrilled to see Sylar do what he did.

I decided I'd make this afternoon about TV, so I watched another MOONLIGHT episode. This is the one that started the story arc with Coraline. Not my favorite story arc of the season, but certainly that first one was perplexing until the final reveal.

I pulled last season's NCIS off the shelf and watched the episode about the dog who was accused of killing a marine and Abby's attempts to save the dog from being put down.

I ended my afternoon by skimming through today's AS THE WORLD TURNS. Nothing of interest though the boys are in the previews for tomorrow's show.

So far, I have not received any review copies today either, so tomorrow also looks like a holiday unless something comes in the late afternoon UPS delivery.

I was a mess with bifocals for the first week I had them: I dropped things and fell upstairs a couple of times.

Well, I'll take care of a few maintenance things on the computer and then head back down to continue the evening viewing schedule.

DR TCB:  walking pneumonia sounds pretty serious to me.   Or ANY kind of pneumonia.

I usually get it every December or January.  I guess I am a late-bloomer this year.  I suppose it comes from my 25 years of smoking.

It can also come from growing up in a smoking household.  My sister and I don't just get colds, we get upper respiratory infections/bronchitis/pneumonia.

Anyway - feel better vibes to DR TCB!!!
