In other news...

It's been interesting watching some of the coverage of Ike Turner's passing.  Due to his status as the "poster boy for spousal assault", there's been a real sense of restraint in the "tributes".

Did some work at Ye Olde Piano, and am now listening to a great Pat Williams CD, to be followed by what I hope will be another great Pat Williams CD, neither of which I knew was in existence until I found them today at a used CD store for less than the price of a happy meal.

I have unused Amoeba credit, so maybe I'll pick up a couple of Edu Lobo CDs.

As for viewing tonight, I'm still not in a John Ford mood, so maybe I'll just check out Hairspray, unless something got TIVOd today that interests me.

They were playing Hairspray [the musical] on the plane flight yesterday.  It is so outrageously fun and upbeat.

For those waiting for a report on The Kid From Brooklyn, I"m seeing it tomorrow night not tonight (aparently I'm going on opening night - who knew?).

What you find out on the inner net:

Al Jolson's widow Erle married writer-director Norman Krasna 13 months after Al kicked the bucket, and they were married until Krasna's death 30 years and three children later.

Good Evening!

Dinner was good.  And the red wine wasn't actually palatable.  I had bought a cheap bottle over the summer, but we didn't uncork it until tonight.

And cookies, of course, for dessert.
