Next, I watched THE ICE STORM on the soon-to-be-released Criterion 2-disc set. The film looks beautiful, and the Dolby Surround sound is the best I've ever heard the movie sound.

Of course, the film is deeply melancholy and full of pain. When it was over, I wanted to watch something silly like the Marx Bros. just to lighten the mood.

ROMEO AND JULIET would be light and silly next to THE ICE STORM.

Randy's comment to me was that he wanted to ask him, where? in my head?

That's funny.  It would be nice if you can make up.  I know as long as Mrs Macbeth is in the picture it won't be easy.  A semi truce would be nice, and you were generous enough not to wish the bedbugs on them. ;)

Mike, I don't think it is a compliment to tell a lady she is husky!

Especially when she is a Malamute ;D

I went to the doctor today with what I thought was a ear infection. Turns out I have TMJ... and a cold. There's nothing wrong with my ears or my sinuses. But apparently I've been grinding my teeth on a regular basis for quite awhile. And the last few nights when I've woken up with my ear/jaw throbbing, it's been from how strongly I've been grinding and clenching my jaw. My doctor advised me to go to the dentist, to get a mouth guard so I don't cause further damage to my teeth, and most importantly- to reduce my stress level.

But not generous enough to leave them more than $10.00 in my will.  I told Randy I'd be interested in talking to Tom if his wife were dead.

Well, let me just say that I resent them keeping me so busy at work that I can't post at will during the day.  It's cramping my style!  ;)

This state of affairs will now likely last into next week.   :(

Since I am a regular customer of JG Autographs, they always send me their new catalogs.  I think this is one of the hottest autographed pieces I have seen in a while. (Sorry, I don't know how to put the name in place of the web address)

Sorry, I don't know how to put the name in place of the web address

It is just as easy to clink on the web address, cut and pasting isn't a big deal either.

VIBES TPunk.  I have TMJ and it can be very painful.

My first mouth-guard was great.  In the beginning I wore it all day & it worked wonders.  I had that one for several years until a crown forced me to get a new one which didn't do much.

I really should get another one, but I don't have dental insurance and I hesitate to waste my money again.

Good Evening!

Back from dinner with various colleagues from various theatres, colleges and theatres.  We supped at one of the local branches of Stick Fingers BBQ - Memphis-style BBQ in Chattanooga.  It was pretty good.  And so was the beer.  :)

I hope they don't do swing choir, DR JOSE.

DR ELMORE I hope you showed Ms Pamela Myers the lovely bar graph that DR SINGDAW posted yesterday.

As for today's auditions...

First the Good News:

Today's "Gimme, Gimme" (Thoroughly Modern Millie not Mamma Mia!) count: 0 (?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?)  :)

The Bad News:

"Not For The Life Of Me" (Thoroughly Modern Millie): 4 (maybe 5, since I may blocked it out.  Alas, there was one group where two girls sang it - with only one other auditionee between them.  However...

The Good News:

"And They're Off" (A New Brain) was sung a few times today.  -I love playing it.

The Bad News:

Two gentlemen ended up singing it back to back at the beginning of the afternoon session.

-However, they both sang it well.  :)

Well... Um...  I'm not playing the high school auditions this year, but, apparently, the "show choir syndrome" has been a continual problem for that division.  Can you say, "big gesture"?  ;)
