I then watched THE YOUNG PHILADELPHIANS. An excellent 1950s soap opera with a great cast: Paul Newman, Barbara Rush (always like her), Robert Vaughn (well deserved Oscar nomination), John Williams, and Billie Burke in a scene stealing turn that should have netted her an Oscar nomination, too.

And a fab-u-lous music score by Ernest Gold!

And I'll swear I had NO idea, but when I finished the movie, I went back and turned on the audio commentary. Vincent Sherman had some comments on making the movie, but the commentary was actually in the hands (mouth) of Dr. Drew Casper!!! Yep, typically gushing and effusive in his analysis which made me laugh a lot. I only got about 30 minutes back into the movie, but I'll have to listen to more of this at some point.

Yes, very lush and most enjoyable.

He was probably gushing at the thought of how much more botox he could afford after doing the job.

I concluded my afternoon with today's AS THE WORLD TURNS. Yes, Luke and Noah were on, and things are happening just as I predicted weeks ago as Noah begins taking a REAL interest in his new wife. (New wife looks to have eyes for another, of course. That, I didn't see coming. I figured she hooked Noah for some grand scheme of her own.)

They were not featured in previews for next week. (The show is preempted by basketball starting tomorrow.)

Ah, yes.  Exactly as it happens in "real life", then!   :)

I know no one else here is watching "The Biggest Loser", so I'll just say that it has shaped up beautifully as (probably) the best season yet.  High drama, hijinks, and histrionics seem to converge in each episode.

I'd love to have the release, but I'd love even more for it to be beneficial for Kritzerland.

DR George-I enjoyed the Sidekick photos, thanks.  You look very cute in the photo with the big smile.

Thank you, Jane! :D

My DH has returned. He said he was going to take a shower, but I haven't heard any water running in the last hour. I do believe he is hiding from me.

Vibes for BK and Kritzerland!

I'm off now to meet my cousins (sons of my aunt who lives in the same retirement community as my mom) for dinner at the local Mexican restaurant.  They'll be surprised to see that my DS Rob is joining us.  One of my cousins lives in Georgia, the other in Japan.  They're here visiting their mom and will go on to Pittsburgh to visit their dad.

Adios for now!

I will email when the outcome is known.

A candle is burning for a positive outcome - MR BK, sometimes keeping things under your hat is best - the inner-net is pervasive and there are those....as the Sherman Bros. wrote.....

I just read in VARIETY that ratings are up in this edition 10% over the last installment.

As for JERICHO's ratings last night: up just a bit in 18-49 age group. Down a little bit in total viewers.

The rain finally arrived, though it's a gentle rain, not a monsoon like we had last week (almost 2 inches).

Maybe if you put the rolling pin back, set down the clip-board filled with Task Sheets, and baked a fresh batch of chocolate ship cookies you might lure your prey of of hiding.

I don't mind revivals of shows.....I don't like REVISALS of shows....because if something is made with the TODAY and NOW in mind, it too will be very old fashioned in a few years.....

It is very difficult for me to listen to NEW recordings of shows that I have been listening to for a long time....and these performances have become the show for me....

So....I liked THE DROWSY CHAPERONE because it was the KIND of show I like....but it was NEW!!

I don't think RENT has aged well....and I think SPRING AWAKENING is the first HAIR of the new century.  But then neither show was written or created for me as an audience member.

Robert Vaughn and Barbara Rush are indeed fine reasons to watch THE YOUNG PHILADELPHIANS......although I think I was distracted once wondering why some of the men were wearing white dinner jackets to an evening black tie party.....

In the United States and Canada white dinner jackets (as with most of white summer clothing, like all-white loafers, all-white seersucker, etc.) may be worn from only Memorial Day through to Labor Day.

I stand corrected....if the party was held during the summer time, it was perfectly all right.

I have nothing to say about the patient's new anus.  I think we should all refrain from comment since it is HER anus not YOUR anus.
