Yesterday's TOD  (or:  Oy! Here We Go Again With the Tardy TODs):

Best things in 2012--

1. Certainly, joining HHW.  No question about it.
2. Getting back in touch with my long-neglected L.A.  Well, not so much neglected as un-visited.  Loved being there, and I vow to find the means of showing up a little more often.
3. And, this just in -- successfully transitioning from expiring health coverage via former employer and COBRA to a new personal policy, in spite of age and "pre-existing condition" (just hypertension).

Worst thing in 2012--
1. Seeing what it's going to cost me!   :o   :)
2. Hopefully, there really isn't a "2"...

BK,

Unnecessary as it might be, what does the additional 20 minutes of ONCE UPON A TIME IN AMERICA consist of?

The Louise Fletcher sequence?
Anything that clarifies the ending?

Please elaborate.

Thanks.

I've wrapped my last three gifts. At 202 West 82, this holiday is closed. I still have the cards with money to attend to.

Elmore, watch The Bishop's Wife, if and when you can, for the Jerome Moross orchestrations of the score. Really beautiful work.

Well, our Festival of Lessons and Carols went well. Choir sounded horrible yesterday during our rehearsal, but they nailed even the most difficult of carols. And the congregation at both services appreciated us. That was the point, so I guess we succeeded in that.

I'm up, I'm up.  I've been up since ten, but just stayed in bed and was lazy until about thirty minutes ago.

Druxy, yes the Louise Fletcher sequence, which borders on amateur and which only has the original production sound, which is awful, and there's a scene at the end with Treat Williams and James Woods that helps clarify what's going on but in the end it's really not necessary because we "get" all that from the subsequent scene.  Can't remember what the other stuff is - a second scene in the water that mirrors the first scene where Noodles thinks Max has drowned - the new one follows them driving into the water in the car - it's just an extended bit and I think they didn't have the sound so they stuck Morricone over it.

I don't have anything to watch on my PVR except 10 episodes of last season's TRUE BLOOD. So I guess I will have a marathon one of these days.

I do have a lot of books to read. Three from the library.  And a lot more than that on my kindle and in my room!  No matter how much I read I can never keep up with TBR list!

It was Aaron Copland who took Moross with him to Hollywood as his orchestrator. 2013 isthe Moross centenary.

Sunday afternoon greetings from the west side of Lima, OH!  Our visit with niece Rev. Amy and her family has been scrubbed because the 5-year-old has a fever and sore throat.  Richard and I visited a parishioner who's recovering from a stroke and now we're relaxing at the hotel.

Mrs. Vladlena Anatoly, the "announcer" for GAZPROM just sent me an e-mail that I won $929,000.00 in the Random EMail Address Ballot.  I turned it down.  If they can't award me an entire million, then I don't want it.

DR TCB - I can just ABOUT take a lot of CGI scenery - but CGI animals - NO.  But I won't say anymore, because I don't want a repeat of what happened when I expressed my opinion about Flaherty & Ahrens.

Was it anything like the time I said I liked Canada geese?
