Perhaps we should now have a knock-out drag-down argument about whether raisins really does rhyme with liaisons.

I take it then from your post, DR JoseSPiano, that the people of your side of the table see a lot of the same people at these auditions, year in and year out?  Someone from out of town, or a fresh face, really stands out? I wonder how long that advantage lasts?!

"Year in and year out"?  More like "day in and day out" - well, at least "week in and week out".

Being "new", "fresh" can work to your advantage if you're actually good and right for the project.  Otherwise, you're just another P&R in the "No" pile.

On the flip side, it's always nice to see the "regulars" grow - hopefully, they grow and get better over the months and years.  It's always wonderful to see - and hear - "Dancers Who Sing" become "Dancers Who Sing(!!!)", as well as "Singers Who Move Well" become "Singers Who Dance Really Well".

Today's particular "newbie" was, well, to put it bluntly... He was pretty.  Pretty Hot.  Good face.  Good tan.  Good arms.  Etc., etc., etc.  Like I mentioned earlier, we all noticed him - and there was a representative  of almost every "persuasion" behind the table today.  He danced very well, alas, he just wasn't right for the project, so he did not garner a call-back in the afternoon.  However, he's been put in the file for a few other projects at the casting agency.

*Funny thing - It turned out that he had worked most recently with some friends of mine in L.A. on a show, and, in fact, he was just in the recent production of All Shook Up that bk saw a few weeks ago.  Small world, isn't it?

What if HHW were subtext-captioned?      :P

Would that be the Poster's subtext?  or the Reader's subtext?

Oops, you have the wrong state JR. Laverne and Shirley are in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Ginny is in Minneapolis, MN. They share a southeastern border but Ginny would miss most of the conference if she decided to visit L&S  ;D

DH Richard and I will be in Milwaukee in October when I have a week's vacation.  We'll be going to Nashotah House for his graduation and are planning to do a little sightseeing on the way.  Milwaukee is on our list, so we'll drop on Laverne & Shirley then, OK?

The business center is quite busy, so I think I'll relinquish this computer.

Bye for now!

Hmmm...

It seems that Mel Brooks' Young Frankenstein has not only dropped their $450 Premium Seats, but they've also just hopped on the discount voucher bandwagon too.  Hmm...

There's an hysterical cat-fight going on over at All That Chat now about whether or not the actors in last summer's Hair in Central Park did the nude scene in body stockings or not.   :D

Have some writing to do, so I'll hop off-line to work on that. Then it's downstairs for more viewing this evening.

Have any of you choral types out there ever run across a SAB arrangement of Faure's "Cantique de Jean Racine"?

Yes, I have returned!  I survived the photo shoot, and believe me, they got a lot of close-ups.

Actually, for anyone who knows me well, this whole shoot would make them laugh.  Fortunately for me, they needed an old coot for this ad, so the casting was perfect.

So, at 6:01 in the morning, I arrived on the shores of Lake Washington in Seattle.  The Wardrobe Woman had asked me to dress appropriately as an older retired gentleman (coot) going fishing on a lake.  I wore the type of clothes she had mentioned, but she immediately picked out clothes from her wardrobe van that she preferred.  Okay, so I preferred her choices, too.

So after getting re-dressed, meeting all of the crew and the photograher; at 6:35 a.m, I climbed into a rowboat and began rowing around Lake Washington. Oh. did I mention that before I climbed in to the rowboat, they were nice enough to scrape and wash the ice out of the boat?  Yes, it was a chilly 32 degrees this morning.

Now the idea of me fishing is amusing.  I prefer to eat them than catch them.  But the idea of me in a rowboat rowing around the lake in the pre-dawn morning is something that I am sure my sister would pay big bucks to see.
