Well, you've read the notes, the notes were nude and an adventure, and now it is time for you to post until the nude cows come home.

So far, so good. I slept through the night and my tooth is still there.

I go in on July 6th to begin work on the permanent crown.

TOD: Lately, it's been radishes. I could munch on them day and night, with a tiny bit of salt.

Good Morning!

I'm up, I'm up... And I decided to take the 8:15 bus instead of the 7:45 this morning.

As for the Topic of the Day...

If there's ice cream in the freezer... And sometimes all I need is just one generous spoonful to satisfy my craving.

Otherwise, usually some sort of potato chip. Whatever happened to catch my eye while I was shopping.

TOD:

I'm with DR Jose--ice cream!  My favorite is Hagen Dazs five ingredient chocolate.

I also love potato chips, but I never keep them around the house except when entertaining.

Good morning, all! I slept late: I stayed up too late reading, and I slept badly with many strange and unsettling dreams, of which I now remember nothing. Then, when I decided to get out of bed, I wandered around blindly because during the night I went back to bed, wearing my glasses, and I lost them in the bedding. I had to first locate an old pair before I could search for the good ones. Oy! So, that's my morning, and I'm a bit grumpy/

Next up: laundry.

I have proofing of the endless Act Two Finale here, and there's a new number from EILEEN ready to be downloaded and printed as well. Tonight, I'm having dinner at Lorraine Serabian's apartment on the East Side. It will be fun to visit.

First, coffee.

Cilla, just saw your "ants" post and in the small world, we had an outbreak here last night, too.  We encountered a lot (as in a LOT) of tiny ants here last summer in our first year here.  We had an organic pest control company (yes, there are such things) come out and treat.  That helped but didn't totally alleviate the issue.  However, they told us it is an absolute mistake to kill/drown the ants (which we had been doing, too).  All that does is signal the Queen to send out more when her "scouts" don't return with food/info.  So what we did was buy some of those little "gel" baits, and I actually open them up and place little bits of the gel where I see the ants.  Typically they swarm the gel for about 30 minutes, then disappear and we don't see them in that area again.

And BTW the gel we have (I think the brand name is Grant's) specifically states it's non-toxic to pets and humans.

I love tortilla chips but with my temporary crown I have to stay away from them for a while, as well as corn on the cob, apples and other crunchy fruit. Applesauce and yogurt here I come!

The laundry is in the washers and I will tidy up a bit in the next 40 minutes before I move to the dryers. I've got a lot of EILEEN to work on, so that's my afternoon.

Yes, I've been trying to be better about my diet as well, and this will just be an impetus. I have teeth that need work and bad cholesterol! I'm falling apart.

We're heading out to Long Island tomorrow for a long weekend. I have to come back to the city on Wednesday for a dental appointment. Anthony may stay out there and I may go back out on Thursday. We haven't finalized our plans yet.

Last night on the 6:00 news there was the saddest story about this beautiful black kitten, now around 11 weeks old, that some son of a bitch had thrown out the window of a moving car on the freeway three weeks ago. Luckily, the kitten survived, but it has a broken leg and required surgery to heal several perforated organs. While I'm rather immune to the cruelty we're able to inflict, these random acts of such ugly behavior really stun me.

Ben, I put this off for years, trying one natural remedy after another with middling success, but I finally relented and went on Simvastatin, and a tiny, tiny dose at that, about 4 months ago to improve my cholesterol.  It dropped hundreds of points almost overnight, and my lipids also shrank considerably.  In fact my doctor said he had never seen such results in 30 years of practice.  I actually have to go back for a blood test this morning, as my liver enzymes are just slightly out of whack, one of the side effects.

I'll ask my doctor about Simvastatin. Right now I'm taking fish oil, which is technically a blood thinner and I bruise easily, like DR Ginny. About two weeks ago I had a black eye and people kept asking what happened. I still don't know. I must have rubbed my eye too roughly in the middle of the night because I went to bed without a black eye and I woke up with one!
