TOD - I started taking Spanish in 9th grade and continued through high school.  I placed into second-year, second-semester in college, fulfilling my 2-year language requirement halfway through my freshman year.  That eventually made room in my schedule to pick up a year of French in my senior year.  I remember very little of either language and need a brush-up on French before October.

What article?  I don't see any post from Jose referencing a specific article, but I must have missed it.

I took Spanish for a few years, but matriculated to French, in which I became relatively fluent, especially after I started going out with a French Moroccan woman.  :)

I also know a smattering of Portuguese, Hebrew and due to my Masters work, Classical Greek.

Good Morning!!!!  DD Ben and I slept until 9:00am!!!!  We went for our walk, DD Ben had his breakfast, and is probably back in bed.  I've got some 70's soft rock playing and it's a BE-AUtiful summer day here in Foster City.  I'll probably set the keyboard up as I have to record the score for The Wiz - argggg!!!  I hate doing things like that.  Ok, that was weird... I was typing about The Wiz and America's song "Tin Man" comes on.  I need coffee.

Au Revoir!

I just called the two 800 numbers for these charges and called several times until I had the names correct. They are Shoppingessentialsplus and PrivacymattersIdentity, which both have complaints against them on line for their "deductions" from bank accounts.

Clearly, Privacymaatersidentity had some "30 day trial" I clearly got entangled in during an Intelius friend search:

Shoppingessentialsplus may have hooked me through Classmates:

We don't do free trials anymore.  Did you also take out a membership with classmates?  They are notorious for making it difficult to cancel.  My satellite radio is the same way.   I have to flag my calendar & make sure I don't let them automatically renew my account.

Free trials are never free.

I have no memory of a "free trial" with anyone since I don't trust anyone. I do suspect Classmates to be behind all of this, and I can find no way to cancel my membership on the site.

Found it under "Help" and I've sent my request for a cancellation of membership.

I got sick of so many emails from classmates.com that I went in there and changed my email address to something I don't even remember.

Have these deductions gone on for a while, Elmore? Or are they new this month?

On June 16 BK posted a link to "A Certain Cinema" that had an article. The link was to their front page, and I can't find the article for that day.

Since April. The problem is that I order so much online that they got jumbled in with the other charges and I let them slide. In May the damned PrivacyMatterIdentity charged me twice as two different accounts and I believe it's all connected with my new debit card, which arrived in February or March. That debit card is now dead and my bank and the lovely young lady to whom I just spoke have filed dispute on all charges fro the past three months with these two companies.

My son won't open a statement. He had an old account he never used, but he just never closed it. He started getting notices, but wouldn't open it. He finally discovered that some company went through the entire balance of $800 in fees until his account was $80 overdrawn.

I'm like that too.  But this thread made me go check out my checking account activity.
