Last night's fireworks displays were unbelievable from our new house.  We could see north as far as Vancouver, then downtown Portland, then Oaks Park and out east to Mt. Scott.  We were in Big Timber, Montana last fourth so had not seen how many displays we could see here at home.  Amazing.

I am sonically reliving the 1970's by listening to Mahavishnu Orchestra's incredibly lovely album with the London Philharmonic, Apocalypse.

Someone please explain this post to Laura.

I had been thinking of this album since hearing from Michael Tilson Thomas' "peeps" about my Mahler review.   I think this was the first album conducted by MTT I had and it really affected me very deeply.

Tuesday morning greetings!  I have a lot of puttering to do this week to get ready to accompany Fr. Richard to the annual church synod next week.

Of course, there was basically no traffic morning heading in except for the usual bottle-necks and slow downs. ...And I'm here.*

SELF-ISH PLUG TIME:

For those DRs in the DC area and their family friends - or for those DRs thinking of heading to DC, previews for Oklahoma! at Arena Stage start this Friday, July 8. Some of the preview performances are already sold out, but for those that aren't, tickets are just $46 or $56.

And for performances after Opening Night, Arena has various Savings Programs. Discounts are available for Students, Residents of SW DC and Patrons 30-and-Under. Additionally, Arena also offers same day rush tickets through their 1/2-price HOTTIX program.

END OF SELF-ISH PLUG ;)

Our new tenants are here from California and Betsy and I are meeting them for a walkthrough today.  The current tenants have completely let the (huge) yard go, so I have told the new tenants to take a deep breath and not freak out.  Freaking out is my job, after all.  :)

We did clarify that we will need to sell the house by May 2013 in order to avoid capital gains, so my hope is these tenants stay through July 2012 and we'll then put the house on the market.

If you removed the nudes  I would like this one best - perhaps simpler would bring the eye to the name better

I like this one too. -But, like DR vixmom, I would like to see it without the nudes. -In fact, it took me a few moments to figure out exactly what they were.

Ditto.

 ;)

LOL! Ok. Well, my DH probably had said test and survived it just fine.

Cool!!!  We can't see them from here.  Apparently, until the year we moved here, the fireworks used to be at the lake & we would have been able to see them.  Now they are in town at one of the parks so we have only gone a couple of times.

We had a fun busy day yesterday.  Tonight we have company again.  I hope they are already on the road so they don't arrive too late from No. California.
