I'm up - barely.  I'm very tired but have to get awake quickly and be on my way to the lab.

I don't have to make an appt. with a barber.....I just have to really scrub when I shampoo....

DR ELMORE - the director asked for some "20's" music for her preshow and intermission......and even though the play takes place in 1924.....guess what I put on CD for her?

DR Jose, I'm sorry to hear about the cast injury. I hope casting a replacement goes well. From the auditions, weren't there a few who sinmply missed the replacement jobs by a hair? Couldn't they be contacted about stepping in?

DR elmore - We do have a few good possibilities/back-ups lined up already. The big wrinkle was that the person who left the show and the new swing were already replacements for ensemble members who did not return for this engagement. Thankfully, we do have an "emergency swing" on-call should the need arise over the next few weeks.

And now...

I need to get ready to head back in to Arena. We have a few hours of fixes and tweaks to take care of this afternoon, and then we have our final (invited) dress rehearsal tonight at 8:00.

-On paper, the past two-and-a-half week rehearsal process really did seem "fast". And, well, yes, it was. The tech rehearsals over the past two days kind of caught me off guard with how smoothly things went. Since this is a remount and all the staff and crew are the same, I guess it was supposed to go smoothly. However, this "new kid on the farm" is still getting his footing. Anyhoo...

Laters...

TOD:

Most of my favorite pop singers of today are from Pakistan or various Arabic countries.

I don't denounce any English language pop singers of today, there are likely some wonderful ones out there, it is just that I am not familiar with them.

As for Broadway....of course, Tom Wopat.

Opera I don't know from, except that some of the singers are quite nice to look at if I am to judge from the pictures that DR Elmore has been kind enough to post for me!  ;D

For those willing to experience it, here is a music video of one of my fave Egyptian pop singers, Hisham Abbas. Fun song and fun video...also, I have heard from my Iraqi friend that this singer is a "friend of Dorothy's," if you get my drift  8)

Nice video DR MBARNUM.....and it is nice that you don't have to be young and skinny to be a pop singer in Egypt.

Which reminds me, even though I will miss the Gardenia show in October by a week, I do hope that there may be some rehearsals going on that I can attend.

Franklin Rosenthal's proudest achievement department:

I don't know why, this just strikes me as incredibly funny--all the different fonts and colors.  He probably took hours doing it.

My favorite used book seller, Abebooks, just sent me a promotional email titled "More bleak books." How depressing!
