A SOW'S EAR
« on: July 08, 2011, 12:21:57 AM »

Well, you've read the notes, the notes were both a silk purse and a sow's ear, as well as a sheep's eye and a licorice tooth, and now it's time for you to post until the cows come home - they're currently trying to make a silk purse out of a cow's ear and a licorice tooth and are not having much luck.

TOD:

Cole Porter on the MP3 and CD player and will be until the paper is finished; it is now due Sunday.

Car CD: Disc 13 of "The Count of Monte Cristo."

DVD: Probably won't have time for anything.

We watched Despicable Me yesterday. It was fun.

We have no plans tonight.

Doc Martin has been moved from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon so no DM for us tonight.

Good morning, all! I am back to the weird dreams; last night's biggie was a cross between "Last Train from Gunn Hill" and "Tale of Two Cities," which began on a subway in Manhattan and ended up in the French Revolution and a search. I honestly couldn't tell you if the subway ran from Manhattan to France, or if I boarded in London, On the plus side, there were no guillotines and no bloodshed.

In another hour I leave for my barber appointment and I'll stop at the Post office in Radio City on my way back. After that, I've got more proofreading, and that's my day.

TOD:
DVD:  Duchess of Duke Street, discs 2&3, Catch Me If You Can, which I've never seen
CD: Knickerbocker Holiday, Guy Haines, Catch Me If You Can, Tales of Hoffmann, La Cocarde de Mimi Pinson
  VCR: cheap trash

TFNM covers

I prefer #3. Interestingly I first liked the style of #2, but seen with the other I don't like it.

Do the sows come home when the cows come home?

Can you make a silk purse out of a cow's ear?

Larry - Your dream last night actually sounds great, all the excitement without the violence, if I'm reading you right.  I'm no Jrand, but I think it bodes well for your state of mind last night.

CNN is promising a RARE interview with Beyonce.

Rare?  Rare?  She seems to be talking to everybody.  Not that you can get too much Beyonce, but come on, CNN!

Jrand - If my amateur dream reading to elmore gives a false sense of good things to come, I hope you'll correct me.

Friday morning greetings!  I really zonked out last night.  Today I have to play the "Getting Ready Rag" and prepare for next week's road trip to the Atlanta 'burbs for Fr. Richard's church conference.

And now...

We don't start rehearsal until 1:00 this afternoon - just a couple of minor tweaks - but I want to get in early to finish up my keyboard book, as well as double-check some things in the other orchestra parts/books. So...

Laters...
