Well, you've read the notes, the notes were not waylaid, and now it is time for you to post until the waylaid cows come home.

BK

Is it too late to get a table at the Hollywood Show?

It might be a place to get some more people to sign up!

Good morning, all! As soon as THE CLOSER ended last night, I headed for bed, since I knew the alarm was going off at 6:30.  I want to be down at Toyland early, before it gets too warm, to await a delivery of paper. I'm taking a bundle of second edits with me, and I'll work there until the Office Depot delivery arrives.

Last night I had another weird travel dream, of which I remember nothing except that my beloved Judy Kaye was in it. I did finish watching PRIDE AND PREJUDICE (BBC, 1980), and I think its tone is closer to Miss Austen's than the ultra-romantic Colin Firth-Jennifer Ehle version of the 1990s. I think I still prefer the Firth-Ehle edition, but I'd forgotten how wonderful the 1980 production was. The actress playing Jane Bennett reminds me a great deal of a friend of mine and DR Ginny's from 1970s community theatre, and I think Elizabeth Garvie is a better Elizabeth Bennett than the wonderful Jennifer Ehle.

So, after another cup of coffee, I will head downtown. I have few plans for the day beyond work and sitting around Toyland.

TOD: Celery. It may seem odd, but it's probably my favorite food. I eat it plain, in a simple salad with Parmesan, olive oil and lemon, stuff with the likes of pimento cheese, added to any stir-fry, soups, you name it. Something refreshing about the flavor that I love.

Tuesday morning greetings!  Typical of the first night in a hotel, I slept poorly.  Well, that's not entirely true - I slept great, except for the hour or so that I was awake from 5-6am...

Greetings from Toyland!

The news says the temperature will get to 93 today, and it's already quite warm.  Whewn I got here, I went into the Men's Room to wash my face with cold water, and was terrified by two huge black things crawling rapidly around the floor;  that I would swear were 1.5 inches long. Once I put my glasses back on (from washing my face) and saw two cockroaches were running about the floor, I killed them both. I don't think I've seen roaches that large since my parents moved from our house on Goldman Avenue.

Thanks to my insane mother's terrible housekeeping, we had roaches that large running about the kitchen and basement. Once, when I was home for a weekend from college, I looked in Randy's hamster cage and asked, how long has this hamster been dead?  My mother replied, I've been meaning to get to that for a few days. Moke like a few months. I guess she was too busy drawing in the inch-thick  dust covering everything. Yes, her insanity still irks me, since we all had to deal with the fallout, especially Randy, who was stuck at home with her after I went offto school and Macbeth moved out to party, get high and screw around.

DR Laura - we have neighbors who only speak to us to complain about something to do with our yard.  We keep the grass cut and the weeds trimmed, but no chemicals, no manicuring, etc.  Irritates the &%$# out of the folks to the west and the south.  For 23 years...
