Spent most of the evening watching BONES episodes. I am now one episode into disc five (there are six discs in the set), so my little experiment has worked out very well with watching BONES while I was working on other projects. Of course, I had already seen all these episodes (well, the one with John Pyper-Ferguson as a blind man I must have missed last year; I didn't remember it at all.), so I wasn't trying to keep running story arcs straight since I was already familiar with them. Not sure how many more episodes are left on the set. I didn't count, but I will tomorrow.

I did save time to watch last night's MAD MEN. The Don-romance stuff I found very uninteresting, but I enjoyed everything else about the episode including Peggy and Paul's "rivalry" for a Western Union idea and Betty's discovery of the contents of the drawer she's been trying to get into for years. Looks like Joan is back next week. There are only three episodes left in the season, and Kennedy's assassination is certainly looming. Wonder how the episode will be framed by that upcoming event?

Speaking of favorite sites -

I missed Michael Musto's blog last Friday and it turned out I was mentioned, or at least he mentioned & linked the I'M STILL QUEER video from a few months back.  That was fun!

This is pretty darned cool, Fred!  Congrats!

OK, CNN has an article that says "Balloon family feels under seige"  Well duh, you do some big hoax to get attention and you'll get attention.  Maybe not the attention you were seeking, but attention nonetheless.

I know. i hope the judge throws the book at these asses.

The show was great tonight! There were a couple of changes that surprised me. I saw my old friend Michael Feinstein afterwards. I don't think we'd seen each other since 1987 or so and he seemed to like the show. He looked great. I felt old and decrepit. I also saw my old friend Greg MacKellan who runs the 42nd Street Moon Company in San Francisco. He's in town this week for NAMT.

The new finale works fine. I think the ending I did worked equally well but it makes no never mind which makes the final cut.

Certainly they need to take a careful look at parents who make their children part of a hoax like this and then ask them to lie.

Finished with my viewing for the evening.  Have listened to the Brent master - had a few notes, so he'll do those and then off it will go to the pressing plant.  Am now listening to the new Jerry Goldsmith release, a two-fer that includes IQ and Seconds.  IQ is later Jerry and not too interesting - basically a lot of tracks quoting Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, which gets really old after track six.  I'm just waiting for Seconds, one of Jerry's greatest scores, IMO.

I survived the Attack of the Vampire, although my neck is still a bit sore. (Lots of needles.)  No problems from Awful Ava, the nurse, who just sat there, doing absolutely nothing, but apparently that is what she was supposed to do. I spoke to the surgeon a bit. He said it looks like a cyst (best scenario), but, of course, we won't know until we get the biopsy report back next week.
