Last night I gave up using my tablet in bed except for reading a book.

George I am vert6pleased the family gathering went well.

Thanks, Jane!  I'm vert6pleased that you're vert6pleased. ;)

:D

It is very difficult to type left handed on my tablet and my hand covers the keys so I can't see what I am doing.

DR Jane, is this the elbow below the shoulder you injured a while ago?

74%!  Someone took one of the film scripts - The King and I.  If Ghost and Mrs. Muir goes, I'll see about putting up another couple.

George, I'm glad the meeting with your "new" relatives went well. It was interesting to read about.

I think that’s why the postal service used to wait 10 years before putting a person (not a head of state) on a stamp after their death. I don’t know if they do that anymore, now that stamp collecting (philately) has become worthless.

They were still issuing stamps in 2012. This celebrated the new Piaf stamp, and I clearly had free creative time while waiting to get tax work.  :)

I saw the Porgy and Bess movie at the Palms Theater when I was maybe ten years old. I LOVED it. I still love the score and am looking forward to the new KL release.

For all you A PLACE TO CALL HOME fans, season 6 will debut August 31 on Acorn TV. Just the first two episodes, then I imagine one or two episodes each week. I'll try to wait a few weeks. Knowing how addictive the show is I don't want to have to wait a full week to see what happens next! Torture!

PBS has a new mystery series, FRANKIE DRAKE. Is anyone here watching it? I plan to give it a try tonight.

Yes, lucky me.  I am doing stretches as much as possible to keep my shoulder lose and prevent a frozen shoulder.

Indeed. Considering they tried to cancel it at least once, I'm glad it's made it to season six.

The water main across the street from me broke this morning. I noticed it as I was leaving for work. A backhoe was backing into the street.

The water had escaped out of the neighborhood.

Watching Steve Gutenberg's film of P.S. Your Cat Is Dead. Thirty or so years ago, I remember a friend staging this at a community theater, and I really enjoyed that production. The film, not so much. The comedy is played so straight that the fight scenes have become ugly rather than funny. And the premise of a burglar somehow doesn't translate as comedy either.

Well, I just got a call from my niece, asking if I could come over and order something for them with my Amazon Prime, so I'm going.
