For some reason I am thinking it was CBS, Ginny.

So this is a long July 4th week?  I should have taken today off, and yesterday?  Or, I should be taking Thursday and Friday off?  Fat chance.

I'm sad to be away from NYC, too, DR Rodzinski!  When we were in our taxi to the airport yesterday, I told Richard that I wasn't ready to go back to Ohio, but was ready not to be staying in a hotel anymore.

That simply means the time has come for you to move here!

It was CBS for both versions. The 1957 version starred Julie Andrews and was only broadcast once. The 1965 version starred Lesley-Ann Warren. PBS entered the picture when, in 2004, they broadcast the Julie Andrews version of show for the first time since 1957.

Sheesh!  In our accumulated mail, which Richard picked up at the PO this morning, we have a fundraising letter from Summer Youth Theatre, whose production this year is Cinderella.  The letter says,

"It debuted in 1957 for a special one-time performance on PBS to a record audience of 107 million viewers."

A few clicks on the PBS website reveal that PBS was not founded until 1969.

Wasn't the original broadcast on one of the major networks, which were pretty much all we had back in 1957?

IMDB says of Cinderella:

Production Companies
•   CBS Television
Distributors
•   CBS Television (1957) (USA) (TV) (original airing)

I didn't see anyone respond to this, so if I may input my 2 cents, just ask the theater manager what their policy it - or check the contract as it should be in there.

For those of you who direct or work in little theatres.....at the end of the show, who is responsible for the cleaning/dry cleaning of the costumes you used if they belong to the group or theatre?

What does it say in the contract/rental agreement?

Regardless, whoever used the costumes is responsible for cleaning them regardless of who used them.   In short, if you wore it, clean it, and pay for it.

OK... Well, I just had to send a slightly nasty e-mail regarding some payments that are now almost two months late.  And by "nasty", I mean I had to drop the "U-word" - Local 802, AFM.  And since they are deducting union dues, I do have that recourse, so...  Let's see what kind of response I get today.

DR Jason - What time are you heading in?  The put-in ends at 5:00, but the pit equipment won't be turned on until 6:30, so...  -Unless they turn it on for the put-in, but I think they're just putting the piano in the house.  In any case... Call me if you come in early and want to grab some pre-show food.

For BIG BROTHER FANS:

http://www.canada.com/globaltv/globalshows/bigbrother8/index-preshow.html

I asked last week if anyone knew if John from canoe would still be doing his BB blog (because i couldn't find the info on the canoe site). Apparently he will NOT be doing it there. But will be doing some type of updates (hopefully very similar to what he did for canoe) at the site i listed above (Global tv is the station we get BB on here in Canada).

Piece of Chicken is a restaurant I would have thought could only exist in my dreams. So glad to have it around.

That said, I enjoyed pieces of chicken from my pal Popeye today.

Here is an interesting article posted today re: BIG BROTHER (by john).

http://communities.canada.com/globaltv/blogs/bigbrotherrewind/pages/exec-grodner-looks-forward-to-interactive-season.aspx

Interesting, it sounds like America's player will have to vote (to evict) whoever america decides.

Have we already discussed the idea that SINGING BEE looks like essentially the same show as DON'T FORGET THE LYRICS?
