Oh, I thought all might be interested in a book I saw while at the local Goodwill today.  It was called "Men Made Easy".  I was tempted to buy it but didn't.

Just as well - most men were born "easy" ::)

And Nancy Walker was a bundle of talent!

She sure did shine doing "I'm Still Here" from the Sondheim Scrabble album.

Nancy Walker--was she the housekeeper on McMillan & Wife?  Was that how you spelled it?

Yep..that was her.  And you spelled everything correctly, too!

She was also Rhoda's mother in "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" and "Rhoda"...and she was Rosie in the "Bounty" TV commercials.

Ask Larry!

Who, indeed, has a great fondness for piccolo - just give a listen to his orchestrations for "Fine and Dandy".

Just finished watching and enjoying “What If”.   I do have one small complaint.  I couldn’t see Jose when he took his bow.  To dark.

My favorite “What If” was “Audition”.  What fun! I hope I don’t giggle thinking about it when I go see “Fiddler” in October.    :D

I have a NYC question.  My friend, Liz, wrote that I would get the train at Penn Station.  "It's right by Rockefeller Center".  I've looked at the map of the area and I can't find it!

I did spot Grand Central Station.  I wonder if she is mixed up.  Can you get a train to Dover, NJ from Grand Central?

DRDanise, if you need New Jersey transit, I believe you catch the train at Penn Station, which is at 34th and 8th Avenue.  Your friend needs to tell you which train to take and to get her station addresses straight. ;D

Jane, what dates do you need again?  I'll keep checking as well.

Thanks.  I'm checking in Oct. 4th, departing Oct 10th.

I have decided not to stress about this any more.  My room rates are very good and if I feel the world closing in on me I will just take long deep breaths.  ;D I’m sure Bruce can identify with that.  Honestly I’m more concerned if I don’t get a room with a tub.  I really need the warm soaks after my ordeal at the NIH.

This being a family site, I shall not reminisce about NYC and "tubs". 8)

Loose/lose:  Not quite the same thing, but it's evidently National Punctuation Day.  They had an article about it in The Oregonian today.  The guy who invented it sells t-shirts that say "It's not possessive."   ;D

Nancy Walker:  One of the DS and my favorite catchphrases is Nancy's deadpan line from one of the first MTM shows.  As MTM is "distressing" an oak chest she is antiquing (with a big chain), Nancy says:  "I'm glad you have a hobby that makes you happy."

Trivia:  Well, I think maybe I'm the correct guesser, which is great, but even greater is the fact that I evidently imparted some sub-trivia about two of the people that our esteemed BK did not know.  How incredible is that?

DAILY LEVITY:

When I went to lunch today, I noticed an old lady sitting on a park bench sobbing her eyes out.
I stopped and asked her what was wrong.

She said, "I have a 22 year old husband at home. He makes love to me every morning and then gets up and makes me pancakes, sausage, fresh fruit and freshly ground coffee."

I said, "Well, then why are you crying?"

She said, "He makes me homemade soup for lunch and my favorite brownies and then makes love to me for half the afternoon.

I said, "Well, why are you crying?"

She said, "For dinner he makes me a gourmet meal with wine and my favorite dessert and then makes love to me until 2:00 a.m."

I said, "Well, why in the world would you be crying?"

She said, "I can't remember where I live!"

I'm just glad that some else shares my thought that a tub is a "must" for a trip.

Everyone laughed at me about the shock I had when I got a room without one the first time around.  Now I don't feel so bad.  Ha!  ;D

I'll never forget that guys look/voice.  "Well, you didn't ask for a room with one!"   And my answer, "Well, I never thought I had to!"

Don't mess with me and my tub.  You New Yorkers don't stand a chance against my Uptown Seffner Attitude!  8)

The DVD of GYPSY looks SO spectacular. Yes, it's great to see movies on the big screen, but if I were comfortable and content where I was, I'd skip the GYPSY screening.

I saw it in its original release (as I'm sure you did, too, bk), but maybe that's why I wouldn't be all that excited about going to it.
