Gotta go back to work, just wanted to share the story of Jake the dog.  He was the headline story yesterday (never mind that North High won the state baseball tournament for the first time ever).  Someone did the Obama poster graphic of Jake with "Save Jake"   It was above and below the fold

Back from the long jog, which was pleasant.

Congrats BK - I don't know how to take a screen shot

Center the image on your monitor...you can enlarge the view if you like....hold down the Control Key and press the "PrtScrn/SysReq" key (it's generally on the top row of the keyboard on the far right side beside the Pause/Break key.

If you have a photoshop application in your programs, open it, select File/New...and then click Control-V.  The image should appear on the blank screen.  There you can crop it and size it.  Generally, the width needs to be between 400 and 500.  The guidelines here say no greater than 400, but the one I posted for BK is 450 wide.  Save it as a .jpg file in your photos folder.  And then you can post it to HHW.com.

One more....now there's a video including a shot of Jake the dog.  A great looking yellow lab

I'm sure it was the millstone's fault.  ;)

Oy! The August 13 reading has been moved to September 3, but I have nothing to do with it. It's thanks to the internal idiocy of the Library of Congress.  I think I suspected this was going to happen.

I thought of DR Pogue this week as I made my way through the old British series THE RIVALS OF SHERLOCK HOLMES.  Nothing earth shattering, but it's fun to see what contemporaries of Doyle were doing in this idiom.

I just got the DVD of BBC LITTLE DORRIT as a present

I remember several people on HHW that saw it and I don't remember what you thought of it?

And now I shall read a little more of the long musical, and then pick up mail and hopefully some packages.

Yes, Jennifer, I learned later that my ABC listings were wrong. I didn't feel well enough to go back and change them.

I got a good many things watched today.

I began with yesterday's ONE LIFE TO LIVE and AS THE WORLD TURNS. Nothing yesterday of interest on either of them.

Then I watched Sunday night's LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT. Pretty good case with Roger Rees as the primary guest star.

While I ate lunch, I watched last night's RAISING THE BAR.

Tell me judges aren't as petty and spiteful and juvenile as those two judges in the spotlight last night.

Then I watched my work project for today - MY COUSIN VINNY. An above average comedy (compared to the comedies I've seen lately, it's a masterpiece) and I enjoyed seeing it again.

Blu-ray is wonderfully sharp but contrast seemed a little off from time to time. Wonderful DTS-HD MA 5.1 surround track.

Not much in the way of bonuses with the movie. The director did an audio commentary. There are two theatrical trailers and two TV spots, and that's it!

After I finished my work project, I watched today's soap episodes. ONE LIFE TO LIVE had nothing of interest yet again.

Next I skimmed through Y&R.  No Adam, Rafe, or Philip, but I watched the Chance scenes. Eh.

Luke and Noah had a decent amount of screen time on today's AS THE WORLD TURNS. Enjoyed seeing the progression of their work lives.

I also meant to mention last night, when I watched SUDDEN IMPACT, I saw standing in the back of an elevator in one scene Camryn Manheim, just an extra with no lines.
