In my CD player at work:  Tim Hauser's brand new CD from Japan:  "Love Stories:  A Collection of Intimate Love Songs" (that I got autographed last week!! ;D)

And The Song Of The Day: WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD

Speaking of Tim Hauser...The Manhattan Transfer recorded a tribute CD to Louis Armstrong called "The Spirit of St. Louis."  The US release only had 10 tracks, but the Japanese release (available only as an import) has 12 tracks...including "What a Wonderful World."  There is one copy available from a Marketplace seller on Amazon.com and the seller has it listed at $199.99!!! :o

I'm glad I bought mine directly from Japan for about $35. :)

The season finale??  I haven't watched the last two episodes, yet!  Fortunately, I have recorded them.  So those are in my DVR, along with episodes of "Ugly Betty," "Journeyman," "Life," "How I Met Your Mother" and several other shows.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh,,,,now I get it.  "You-know-who" is "Doctor Who" and that's why Der Brucer has to DVR "Ghost Whisperer."

I knew, with time, you'd get there.

For Jane:

Odin, a 2-year-old rescued sea lion who is 90 percent blind, swims with another sea lion, 5-year-old Miller, left, after Odin was released to his new home at the Seal and Sea Lion Habitat at the Aquarium of the Pacific. Because Odin is blind and unable to hunt for food, he cannot be returned to the wild. Visitors can now see Odin at the aquarium.

And has anyone else been following the reasons behind the delay of the premiere of the movie version of "The Kite Runner"?  Truly intriguing.

I found THIS article and one reason for the delay:

"I'm worried people from my tribe will turn against me, even cut my throat and kill me," Ahmad Jaan Mahmoodzada, the father of the movie's star, told the BBC. (The Mahmoodzadas say Ahmad Khan didn't know about the rape scene until the day of shooting.)

Such violence would not be unprecedented. Demonstrations broke out after the film Kabul Express became available on DVD. The Indian movie apparently has a character hurl epithets at a Hazara. The government condemned the offense, but death threats led the actor whose character made the insulting comments to flee the country.

Paramount Vantage ruled out cutting the certain-to-be controversial rape scene, but the studio did decide to postpone The Kite Runner's release, which was originally scheduled for Nov. 2, to give the company time to get the child stars and their families out of Afghanistan.

I didn't know the filming had been completed.  I will go read about it in a little bit-thanks.

Rodzinski is back at his old sports writing job, but he is still still doing the Leading Men column for Playbill. He has his hands full. So to speak.

I do not know the reason for his vanishing from our world, however.

Perhaps if we started discussing football more.

I'll begin the discussion....If this man were on the opposing team, how would be the best way to go about tackling him?

Simple...I'd call out my Flying Monkeys and spirit him away to my castle!

Yeah, I think that's it.

You get sweaty, and you try to score.

I think that's how that sports stuff works.

Yeah.

This morning I looked in my butterfly garden, and I saw the smallest butterfly in North America:

It is a western pygmy blue, with a wingspan of .5 inch.

That is so cool & exciting.  Do you see them often or is this a rare treat?

It's the first time I've noticed one. There are about a half dozen fluttering around. And they are TINY.

And, DearReaderLaura DR, do you use some kind of special macro lens to get these stunners?

It's a pocket Canon camera that has a nice macro lens already on it. It's not one of those foot-long cameras. I just try to get up close.
