I shot, developed, and printed this in my tiny kitchen on the edge of the Hills of Beverly.  This was at a lecture/Q&A thing where we'd just watched Mr. Stewart's 16mm print of "Rear Window".

Nice.  When did you get him to autograph it?

I mailed it to his home and asked him if he would sign and return it, which he did promptly.  I worked with someone who knew him, and he assured me that Stewart would respond.

Yes, FOUL PLAY was a good one! I kept suspecting one person, in particular, but I was wrong.

DETECTIVE DUEL is equally fun, and in color.

That's up next.

It  has gotten unexpectedly cool here today. It's only 79 right now. Unexpected rains this morning. Now this. Guess we're letting you enjoy all the heat, DR Ben.

Thanks so very much, John. Remind me to do you a favor like that sometime!!!

It's 92, feels like 99.

It sure does.  My big outing today:  driving to Burger King for a BACON SUNDAE.

I just had a phone seminar with one of my professors, who is in the Saratoga area. She was not a happy camper because of the heat.

For someone who "never" autographed anything (according to a certain source), Frances' autographs are in abundance Chez K.  ;)

I got a really cool Panasonic shelf system today that's extremely sleek and it sounds fantastic for such a small unit.  Currently listening to Les Baxter.

I am struggling to come up with something uncurmudgeonly to say about a loathsome boy band's Blu-ray which I must review.

It ended.

Or how about a quote from "The Gospel at Colonus": "Now, let the weeping cease."

I have an autographed photo of Charles Strouse and a self-portrait sketch of Ed Wynn. In the living room, I have a few autographs framed on the wall including a poem of Robert Penn Warren's, a Robert Rauschenberg print, a vinyl album cover from k.d. lang ("To polka divine!" and a poster of Terry McMillan. Somewhere in the collection is an autograph from Lillian Gish and a letter from Frank Capra.

I have another Jimmy Stewart -- on a "Vertigo" lobby card I took with me to that showing of "Rear Window" where I took the picture.  Two (2) for the price of one!

Rauschenberg's son Chris lives in Portland (or at least used to, I've been to parties with him).

Craig is not looking forward to driving back to Maryland with Yogi & Kitty.  It will be too hot.  This time he won't hitch a UHaul to the back of his car.  He will ship his belongings.

I like it is warmer today.  I don't want it too cool either.  My hiking group went to Grizzly Peak and it was a perfect morning.

My family drives me up a wall.  I can't pin them down to see them in one group visit.  I always have to see my aunt & cousin's separately but when I need to see my brother's family in small groups, while more intimate, it doesn't leave time to see friends.  Keith's family is easier.  My nephew really holds me hostage because he has our grand nephews.
