And the word of the day is: MALAPROP!
Hi, Fred (there's no reference there that I can think of) other than Hello :-)
Good morning. I think I'm coming down with something... everything aches and its a busy day at work so I can't call in sick...blech
Well, I just put all of my musicals on CD in alphabetical order. It took me about three hours! I have 14 shelves with approximately 2" 9' of CDs on each shelf. That's 38 and a half feet of CDs! And those are only my musicals!Der Brucer scoffs whenever I get caught up on our filing, for DVDs and CDs. And yes, I alphabetize. He also doesn't appreciate my including opera with the musicals. Well, it's all staged and acted music, dang it! They belong together! Enough of this elitism!
That's what I did today. Just had to share.
And NBC is bringing back DEAL OR NO DEAL for another week of shows before settling into its Monday at 8 permanent timeslot.
It's a simple premise behind the show, but darn if it's not addictive to watch once you tune in!
DR DAKOTA CELT you are the only person I have ever known in my life who had to use the car as a refrigerator!
Necessity is the mother of invention.... It also helps taht temps have been below freezing.... It is original....
It was okay, not a huge fan of game shows....
The Amazing Race starts tomorrow night!!!

I'm back! I'm back!
What an exhausting weekend.
Touring the galaxy sure takes a lot out of you.

Did you see Zsa Zsa out there? 8)
And were Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver, and Alan Rickman great company?
:)
"You always find it in the last place you look" has always struck me a a wacky saying, but mainly because it is so true.
DR DakotaCelt asked about whether 1988 Canadian skating silver medalist Elizabeth Manley was still skating.
Apparently she is now coaching in Florida, and loves it.
The show was really sad, since she has faced depression and has had some very hard times. IT also said that she had a fiancee and was getting married i think this summer. So that made me happy.
She did ice capades for a while after Calgary. But she gained a few pounds and was told to lose it and then they fired her. :(
Ron - Jose can probably attest to this since I showed my old passport to him, but the picture of me on that old passport (me circa 1990) looks astonishingly like your avatar. When I get a scanner, I'll have to post that picture - it's an eerie similarity.
So which planets did you visit this weekend Ron?
No stopovers....although I hoped to go swingin' on a star...but they were all so danged far away.
...Barefoot...spin up the DVD of its film version......Just picked up the DVD on sale, will be spinning later...

Ron, your light shines afar for all to see....
Just heard on the television news - Dennis Weaver has died.
:'(
[glow]
Ron, you are much bigger than that!! I am sure DRVixmom would agree
One could exchange that gift horse for a gift horse of a different color.

[GLOW]
Would one look in either horse's mouth first?
Today I have a headache. The good news is that said headache may be predicting a change in the weather. We are on Day 133 without rain (or something along that line).

Darren McGavin was always one of my favorite television actors.
And, over at Playbill, there's an article (http://www.playbill.com/news/article/97526.html) about Barbara Cook and Elaine Strich doing a double act to benefit the Lincoln Center.
I wonder what songs they might try for duets???!!!
Page Three LESTAT Dance!!!
DR DAKOTA CELT you are the only person I have ever known in my life who had to use the car as a refrigerator!
Umm... There is no dancing in Lestat. Only "Musical Staging".
-At least, I think that is how Matt West's credit still reads.
;)
I remember using the great out doors (our back porch) as a temporary freezer/refrigerator. It worked great until we had a sudden warm spell. ;D
DR Jose, stupid question here... Is Lestat based on Anne Rice's character from her Vampire books?
During 1997 just before the Great RR flood, we had an ice storm that knocked out power for a number of days and people put their stuff out side since it was cold enough...
Thank you for the information, DR Jennifer. She was one skater I really enjoyed watching her.
Another skater I enjoyed was Josee Choiunard...
Ron, you are much bigger than that!! I am sure DRVixmom would agree
8 am, and no sign of DR Ben or Michael Shayne? Good morning, all!
I have to run to Staples for some pens and finish this medley!
TOD: Hmmmm

Larry, I just heard from Anthony's mother that she has recorded the first two episodes of Season Two for Slings and Arrows and will continue for the entire season. We won't see them for a while but the anticipation of knowing they are there is half the fun. Knowing that they are tackling The Scottish Play this season should bring some laughs.
DR GEORGE congratulations on the ABC'ing of your musicals. It is so practical! Which letter do you have the most of?
I think the J's and S's are my most numerous....though the T's are close.

Oh GINNY!! ~~~~VIBES~~~~ for DH Richard and for you too, caregiver to all..... I vote you get to choose your DVD NOW!
SWW, I have a question... What is your dog's name that you are holding and what breed is he/she?The dog is Peggy. She is a pit bull/boxer mix, brindle in color. We were fostering her for about a year, and finally found the right home for her, with a teenaged boy ready to help train a dog correctly and a younger boy, aged ten, who needs a buddy.
Just thinking of having puppies in the house again fills me with giggles.
Greetings from Lestat rehearsal... I wish. There's something about heading out for a "bite to eat" with the Lestat cast that, well...
...But I do plan on dropping by rehearsal around 3:00, after the lunch break, and then heading with some of the cast and crew for dinner. -They mentioned something about all-you-can-eat-ribs, or something like that. ;)
You ol' softee you....I'm thinking more of what it's like to lay down on the floor and getting covered with soft bellies, wagging tails, and very soft, wet kisses.
I'm thinking more of what it's like to lay down on the floor and getting covered with soft bellies, wagging tails, and very soft, wet kisses.:o
:D
Dear DR SWoody: Please ask DerBrucer to post a bird list. I would love to know what he is feeding.
We all followed the story of Peggy and her pups while the action was going on. Peggy was just placed in her permanent home a short time before you joined us, DakotaCelt. It sounds like DerBrucer and SWoody found a very good home for her.
Vixmom - no.
Oy, what a 12+ hours we've had here!
Just before 2am EST, I heard DH Richard bolt out of bed and the next thing I heard was Ka-Rash!. When I got there, he was sitting on the bathroom floor, then he lay down with his head in the hallway, nose all bloody. Well, I called 9-1-1 and they took him to the hospital about 3 blocks away. I followed in my car and we spent the rest of the night and most of today in the ER. They did all kinds of tests and diagnosed him with some multi-syllabic condition that means he "got up too fast." He's OK - lying on the couch watching a DVD now - but I think I'll stay home (please, twist my arm) again tomorrow to keep an eye on him.

For me, I have a lot of S shows (I include live concert performances such as "Sondheim: A Celebration," and there are several of those) and shows that start with M. Go figure.

Peggy came to us as a rescue from the local pound. They were going to put her and her three pups down because of the pit heritage. Instead, der B and I were able to take her and the pups in. Sadly, one of the pups died that first night due to parvo; the other two pups stayed healthy, and we found them good homes fairly quickly.
We were initially reluctant to place Peggy because of a mange problem. What with the strain of pupbirth and the lack of a home, der B realized that the best thing we could do was give her a stable residence until the mange cleared up. Fortunately, she got along great with the rest of the dogs (Marty, Mikey, Bonnie, Buster, and Fletcher - yup, five other dogs), and particularly took to Fletcher, the deaf Dalmatian, roughhousing together and sharing toys.
Do we miss her? Yes, of course, but we're also confident that we placed her well. If her new family were having problems, we'd have heard by now. Fletcher went through a moping period, but has started playing with the other dogs now.
And this leaves us open to foster other dogs - before fostering Peggy, we took in a found a new home for a collie named Zeus. Der B has been threatening to find us a litter of puppies. Just thinking of having puppies in the house again fills me with giggles.
Hey all!
I also like "Ballgame of a different color." :-)
Well time to face the hpoorors of the LIE... l
When Sh*T happens it really happens.
A young friend here arrived home yesterday to find his new (moved in 2 weeks back) unit flooded from a break in the pipes above. His every posession was awash in more than just water. It's his birthday today!
"M" a poor second at 53.
Where's Dr. Pangloss when you need him?
I feel terrible for your friend...
I'm impressed! (To think, I was taught aborigines could only count "one, two, many".)Hopefully racism is still not taught.
der Brucer
...For you techo-nerds: the inventory is kept in MS Access; I created a cross-tab Querey which I then exported to Excel for ranking.Yup, he's like this all the time. He's actually done this for a living... but not with disc listings.
I figuerd it out (A Pajama Game reference):
S=30
F=29
M=26
C=25
(295 catalogued - about a dozen or so not yet entered)
F gets a high count becasue of the Forbidden B'Way series, plus the mutiple bversions of Follies and Forum.

And now I must hie myself down to Lincoln Center... Someone had an extra ticket to tonight's Barbara Cook and Elaine Stritch Cabaret/Concert, so...Good for you!!!
:D
Laters...
Hopefully racism is still not taught.I did warn him. *sigh*
The author himself observed that "Love does not consist in gazing at each other, but in looking outward together in the same direction."
I did warn him. *sigh*Racist/nationalistic humour can work at the right time in the right place but RARELY in print.
Hi, Fred (there's no reference there that I can think of) other than Hello :-)
DR Joy - the whole toast is quite lovely, but this is, I think, the essence of a healthy relationship. Can you share any wedding details with us?
This hasn't been a great week for TV stars...Weaver, Knotts and McGavin...
...but the rule of threes seems to be in play!
I just had a very nice chat with Tony "Wally" Dow. Very nice guy! We shall continue our chat tomorrow afternoon.
Ginny good vibes for DH Richard. Has your heart stopped racing?
Good news about his mother. I love that she was able to charm the hospital staff into telling her anything regarding another patient, son or not.

Sure, you mean like family history/relationship details or wedding planning details?
Ginny I get it. The squeaky wheel gets the grease.
Joy your toast is beautiful.
MBarnum, did you know he worked on a telemovie version of Doctor Who that was on Fox some years ago... Paul McGann was the new doctor.
Not only did Dennis Weaver make the world a better place with his acting and good deeds, he is responsible for Ron Howard’s existence.
A Universal Good vibes to all who need them, and to those who don't think they need them too, you never know
Yes, I saw that listed on his credits and I will ask him about that show when we continue the interview tomorrow. I am curious to know how he became involved with it.
He also directed episodes of Coach and Bablyon 5.
Congratulations DakotaCelt!
LOL, far from it. We were seventeen.
Nice little teaser about Dennis weaver and Ron Howard, Jane. I won't give the "answer" away, but it really is an example about how one small aprt of one life touches so many others.
Once in a while I go through lighter stages and then, as I am now, return to being a brunette.
Ginny, Jane, and anyone else who wants to know about my sister's wedding in three weeks (eek!):
My sister and I share our father, but I was born six years before her and my parents split up shortly thereafter and my mom & I moved back to the Washington, D.C. area, where she was from. My dad met my sister's mom (hereinafter referred to as ESM - short for Evil StepMother) and they got married and lived in Reno. I started going to visit my dad when I was six; I would go every summer and one or two Christmases. My sister Amanda was born the second summer I visited my Dad (I think). They had two other kids, Justin, then Lindsay. When I was 11 I moved in with them in Reno. When I was 14 I moved out (making a very, very long story short) and back to my mom. I didn't even speak to anyone in my Dad's family until I was a freshman in college. That Christmas we reconciled and I spent the holiday with them. I visited them a couple times a year. My Dad and ESM got divorced my senior year in college. My Dad got remarried to Lynn, who gets her real name because she is a wonderful person and my salvation with all the wedding planning drama. Amanda (the bride) met Brent a few years ago and I absolutely LOVE him and I love them together.
SO, the wedding will be at my dad's country club in the suburbs of Phoenix. It's a lovely venue facing the SanTan Mountains, on a golf course, and the reception will be held in the outdoor patio of the clubhouse. It's a beautiful setting and it will be absolutely lovely... if a little boring by my admittedly oddball standards. :-) My sister is very concerned with what people think and what is traditionally "done" at weddings, and very uninterested in using any sort of creativity. Everything will happen basically exactly the way you would expect it, and you can bet you will be hearing Pachelbel's Canon at some point in the evening. Which is fine, and only annoying because she is so afraid of disappointing anyone or causing any waves. I think she might be on to something, though: there is SOOO much potential for drama, it might be a really wise idea to play it all as carefully as possible.
(Begin Theme to Days of Our Lives)
Potential Drama -- If you don't like soap opera, stop reading now:
1) Lindsay acts like she hates Amanda and doesn't want anything to do with the wedding, other than complaining about everything and being as offensive as possible around the guests (filthy mouth, very negative, abrasive personality, generally very unhappy person). It's all a defense mechanism but disturbing nonetheless. Sad. Amanda is worried that Lindsay will cause a problem and ruin the wedding day.
2) ESM and I haven't spoken in something like 4 years. I don't give up on people and I don't believe that most people are truly evil or past redemption -- but this is the exception. This woman poisoned my life until I finally got the courage and strength to let go of the relationship. I tried to reach out to her on a professional level when Amanda asked me to be her MOH, just to make things easier on her (Amanda). Didn't work. She'd rather have her poison and drama. Amanda is afraid she'll cause a problem with me and ruin the wedding day.
3) Amanda's aunt (we'll call her Shirley) is pissed at my Dad (her brother) and is threatening to cause a scene at the wedding. Amanda is afraid she WILL cause a scene and ruin the wedding day.
Anybody wanna come hide behind the palm trees? :-)

DakotaCelt-
Did you ever see THE CURSE OF FATAL DEATH, the Dr. Who spoof with Rowan Atkinson, Joanna Lumley, Hugh Grant and Jim Broadbent as various incarnations of the Doctor, and Jonathan Pryce as The Master? Quite funny.
A page 11 Lance
(Imagine picture of Lance Kerwin here.)
A page 11 LanceDo you start of each page with a lance a lot DR JMK. Yes I smiled. The worse the better for me!
(Imagine picture of Lance Kerwin here.)
I hope DR TPunk enjoys the Cd in the right spirit DR Rodzinski and they you do not have to take cover.
Don't worry Tom, I'll tell her Der Brucer sent it to me!LOL
I know a woman who had a major crush on Tony Dow when she was young(I suspect she still has one). She wrote her only fan letter to him requesting an autographed photo. To her huge disappointment, which I think she hasn’t recovered from, she received an autographed photo from The Beave.
What was that kid's name who played James? Lance something. He seemed like he could become an actor of some merit. Last I heard about him, I remember a USA Today article some years ago where he was involved in a domestic dispute where he said his "old lady" had hit him.
